#62 Massachusetts Downs New Haven, 4-0 | Box Score
AMHERST, Mass. –
 The No. 62- ranked University of Massachusetts tennis team took down the University of New Haven, 4-0, on Sunday afternoon at the Bay Road Indoor Tennis Center. It marks the fifth sweep for the Minutewomen this season.

Massachusetts picked up the doubles point with wins at courts No. 1 and No. 3. Partners Ella Faessler and Renata Farima defeated Pierina Lescher and Victoria Togores of New Haven, 6-1, at the No. 1 spot. Madara Markevica and Martina Pavissich grabbed the point with a 6-0 win over New Haven's Sofia Lazaro and Micaela Rosignuolo at the No. 3 position.

UMass continued its momentum into singles competition, as Faessler secured the first point with a 6-1, 6-0 triumph over Togores of New Haven at court No. 2. Tye made it a 3-0 match after taking down New Haven's Valentinna Ferrarini, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 1 singles. Fiona Ao clinched the match point with a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Lazaro of New Haven at the No. 4 slot.

Pavissich, Markevica and Amanda de Oliveira all led at courts No. 3, No. 5 and No. 6, respectfully, before the match came to a halt.

The Minutewomen begin Mid-American Conference play on Friday, March 13, hosting Bowling Green at the Bay Road Indoor Tennis Center in Amherst.  


Northern Illinois Sweeps Sunday Doubleheader with UIC, Wisconsin-Whitewater | Box Score Match 1 | Box Score Match 2
DeKALB, Ill. – The Northern Illinois University women's tennis team downed UIC and Wisconsin-Whitewater at home on Sunday. The Huskies have completed their non-conference schedule with a 14-3 record.

Two seniors etched their names in the record book in the wins. Jenna Horne earned her 100th combined career win while Nataly Ninova became the program's all-time singles wins leader with 90 career victories.

Horne becomes the 19th player in program history to record at least 100 combined career wins and now has 101. Ninova ranks second in program history with 158 combined career wins, just five behind Nelle Youel (2011-15, 163), and ranks fourth all-time in doubles victories (68).

NIU 6 | UIC 1
Up first was UIC, the 2025 Missouri Valley Conference champions. The Flames were coming off their biggest win of the season, defeating Indiana 4-3 on Feb. 27. 

The Huskies won the doubles point with Malika Kabdesh / Ninova taking a 6-2 win at No. 1 and Irmak Budak / Horne sweeping 6-0 at No. 3.

In singles, Budak defeated Edit Cosmo 6-3, 6-2 at No. 1, followed by Lucia Yecora winning 7-6 (7-3), 6-2 from the three spot. Theodora Kousiou clinched with a three-set victory, winning 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.

Rebeca Garcia Miralles (Castellón, Spain / IES Sos Baynat) and Horne rounded out the match with wins at No. 5 and No. 6.

NIU 7 | Wisconsin-Whitewater 0
In the evening match against Wisconsin-Whitewater, NIU swept all three courts in doubles.

Senior Isabella Righi recorded a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 4, and was shortly followed by Ninova's historic win. Ninova downed Gracie Ha 6-3, 6-1 at No. 2, taking the top spot in all-time singles wins for NIU.

Garcia Miralles posted another win and extended her winning streak to 10 matches, while Budak recorded her second win of the day at No. 1.

NIU closed the day with a pair of freshmen securing victories in Kabdesh and Sophia Shlyakhta.
