2026 MAC Gymnastics Championships Take Place Today at Stroh Center!

MUNCIE, Ind. -- The 2026 Mid-American Conference Gymnastics Championship will take place today at 2PM ET from the Stroh Center in Bowling Green, Ohio on the campus of Bowling Green State University. The one-day Championship will feature all seven MAC Gymnastics teams as they square off for the MAC Tournament Title.

Ball State Cardinals
The Cardinals enter the Mid-American Conference Championships ranked second in the MAC and 40th nationally with a team NQS of 195.236 ... Ball State earned a season-best score of 195.975 at the Maryland Quad (March 7) and Cardinals gymnasts have captured 27 of a possible 44 individual event victories this season. In addition, the Cardinals have six individual all-around wins thanks to senior Zoe Middleton.

Ball State currently leads the MAC and ranks 33rd nationally with a beam NQS of 48.844. The Cardinals have scored a season-high 49.250 on beam twice this year, with the first coming at Northern Illinois (Jan. 24) and the second at Western Michigan (Feb. 22). Juniors Ashley Szymanski and Delaney McMahon are currently first (9.870 NQS) and second (9.860 NQS), respectively, in the MAC with each tying the program record with a score of 9.925 at WMU.

The Cardinals top event by NQS score is floor at 48.829 which is third in the MAC and 43rd nationally. BSU's gymnasts scored a season-high 49.200 on floor at the Pitt Quad (Feb. 27), led by a 9.900 from Middleton.

Bowling Green Falcons
The Falcons enter the MAC Championships after completing their first winning season since 2002, finishing the year with a 10-7 record.

Bowling Green has had 12 different Falcons set or match career highs this season and rank No.57 in the Nation, per Road to Nationals.

BGSU ranks No.62 on vault, No.50 on bars, No.65 on beam and No.51 on floor with a Team NQS of 193.306.

The Falcons posted their highest score this season of 194.350 (vs. NIU). Bowling Green competes in Rotation one (Vault), three (Bars), five (Beam) and six (Floor) in Saturday’s MAC Championship.

Eastern Michigan Eagles
Eastern enters the 2026 season in its 50th year as a varsity gymnastics program after launching in 1976. EMU holds an all-time overall record of 370-360-2.

From available records dating back to 2003, Eastern owns a 76-107-1 record in regular-season MAC meets. Eastern is entering the ninth year of the head coach Katie Minasola era. EMU posted a 6-8 (2-5 MAC) record in 2025
Finished as the MAC Championship Runner-Up in 2025 with a team score of 195.525

EMU MAC gymnasts to watch are senior Kyrie Lowe and sophomore Keeley Kohler.

The last time the MAC Championships were held at Bowling Green was 2017, when Eastern won the title with a 196.500. Eastern has won four MAC Championship titles in program history in 2007, 2016, 2017, and 2021. The Eagles' most recent MAC Championship came in 2021 with a 195.900 team score at Western Michigan.

Kyrie Lowe earned All-MAC Second Team honors in the all around this season with a 39.000 average and nine event titles. Lowe was also named MAC Gymnast of the Week March 17 after posting back to back career best all around scores.

Macy Nihart was named to the All-MAC Freshman Team on floor, becoming the first EMU freshman to earn All-MAC honors since 2015.

Abby Brushwood has scored at least 9.825 on floor in eight of 11 meets and 9.700 or higher on vault in seven of 11 meets this season.

Katin Childress ranks fourth in the MAC on beam and has not scored lower than 9.025 across 11 meets this season.

Kent State Golden Flashes
Kent State enters the MAC Championships with multiple gymnasts positioned to compete for individual event titles. The Golden Flashes feature top-10 MAC performers across all four events.

Kent State brings four top-10 vault performers to the championships, giving the Golden Flashes exceptional depth on the event. Behner enters as the top-ranked vaulter in the MAC, posting a 9.845 NQS with a season-high 9.900, making her the favorite to capture the MAC vault title. Bingman sits in third position and could medal with a clean routine, while Taylor Archambeau and Sophia Balko provide additional firepower. This vault lineup is Kent State's strongest weapon and could deliver a critical scoring advantage in the team championship race. Last year, Gabby Riley finished tied for second on vault with a 9.850.

Kent State brings three top-10 bars performers to the championships, giving the Golden Flashes exceptional depth on the event. Charlie Behner sits in fourth position and could medal with a clean routine, while Nastia Rudnitskaya and Heidi Schultz provide the firepower to keep Kent State competitive in the team standings.

Schultz, the reigning MAC beam champion, enters the championships ranked third in the conference with a 9.850 NQS. Her MAC title defense and ability to deliver under pressure make her a legitimate medal contender and potential difference-maker for Kent State's team score.

Behner sits tied for third in the MAC on floor with a 9.855 NQS, positioning her as a legitimate medal contender on the event. Her high-energy performances and controlled tumbling make her a threat to finish on the podium and contribute crucial points to Kent State's team score in the final rotation.

Northern Illinois Huskies
The Northern Illinois University gymnastics team is off to the Mid-American Championships this weekend.

Junior Dawsyn Sallee (Versailles, Ky. / Woodford County High) had a standout season for NIU on vault, finishing with the sixth-best NQS score (9.810) and third-highest average (9.786) in the MAC. The junior scored a 9.700 or higher in all 11 meets and earned a 9.800 five times. Sallee had two wins on vault this season.

Junior Mikayla Brown (Suwanee, Ga. / Peachtree Ridge) has a NQS of 9.780 on beam, ranking 10th in the MAC. Brown has led the Huskies on beam six times this season and earned the highest score by an NIU gymnast with a 9.850 in the Beauty and the Beast Meet.

Brown and Sallee each have seven top-three finishes in 2026, tied with sophomore Drake White (Indianapolis, Ind. / Bishop Chatard) for the most this season. White appeared in all 11 meets this season, competing across vault, bars and floor in each meet. The sophomore opened the year by competing as an all-arounder against Kent State and Eastern Michigan, finishing with a season-high 38.600 against the Eagles.
