Ball State Earns Championship Finish and Program Record of Final Days of CSCAA NIC
OCALA, Fla. –
Ball State swimming wrapped up the 2026 CSCAA National Invitational Championships Saturday evening with a championship performance and program record at the FAST (Florida Aquatics Swimming & Training).

Anna Keen ended her sophomore campaign with a first-place finish in the 100 individual medley with a time of 54.35. Keen's time in the finals also achieved a meet record.

Alexa Von Holtz and Reagan Graves made appearances in the finals of the 200 butterfly, with Von Holtz placing sixth (1:59.65) and Graves earning 15th (2:01.18). 

In the mile, freshman Addy Czarmecki placed 17th with a time of 16:52.80. Her 1000 split of 10:01.89 stands as the second-fastest in program history. 

Also in the 1650 free was Callie Tuma, who placed 22nd with a time of 15:55.65. 

The women's team closed competition in the 400 freestyle relay as the team of Keen, Ava Butterfield, Czarnecki and Graves combined for a time of 3:24.72 to finish 24th. 

As the Ball State swimming & diving program enters preparations for next season's competitions, senior Payton Kelly makes one final stop at the 2026 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships (March 18-21) as she competes in the 50 freestyle. 


BGSU Finishes Season in Florida
OCALA, Fla. – Bowling Green finished the National Invitational Championship 30 th of 52 total teams, reaching 108.5 points. The Kentucky Wildcats won the NIC, as the Falcons faced strong competition from power four conferences.

"I'm very proud of how our Falcons competed at this week's National Championship Invitational," said Head Coach Tanner Barton. "Qualifying for this meet is an accomplishment in itself, and our team made the most of this opportunity. After no individual finalists last year, we had three athletes reach the finals this year."

Morgan Sokol competed in the both the 1000 (10:47.41) and 1650 freestyle (17:44.41), while Samia Becdach's 57.96 100 Individual medley placed 42 nd.

Emily McNicol swam to a 2:03.29 finish in the 200 backstroke, while Bridget Kurtzweil finished at 2:11.64.

Freshman Astrid Garcia swam to a 2:03.70 finish in the 200 butterfly, good for 26 th overall. Grace Bodrock finished in 2:06.78 and Alex Johnson in 2:07.25.

In the final event of the NIC, BGSU finished 29 th in the 400 freestyle relay. The quartet of Becdach, Annie BerrowSierra Newton and McNicol touched in 3:27.06.

"Our top 30 finish was largely due to the strength of our relays. All five relays scored points and made a meaningful impact in the overall standings."

Saturday night's action concludes an impressive 2025-26 season for Bowling Green, as the Falcons finished with a 13-3 (3-1 MAC) dual record and notched three NIC finalists in Barton's second year as head coach.


Buffalo Caps Off Season at National Invitational Championships 
OCALA, Fla. –
The University at Buffalo swimming and diving program competed at the National Invitational Championship on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, hosted by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America. The Bulls sent 10 swimmers to compete amongst the national competition. At the end of the three-day meet the program ranked 14th of 52 teams with 217.5 points.   
 
DAY ONE
The Bulls highlighted the opening day of competition by placing 10th of 31 teams in the 200-yard freestyle relay. Nicole AguilarJillian StrineAmanda Jurgelon and Alex Bulat combined to finish the event in 1:32.86. The time fell nearly two seconds shy of the program's all-time top 10 for the event (1:30.64). The Bulls doubled back to take 13th in the 400-yard medley relay. Hattie WasmuthAva Pauly, Aguilar and Strine completed the relay in 3:43.82.

Kamilla Nemes finished 22nd in the preliminary round of the 200-yard individual medley. The freshman's time of 2:03.17 missed the consolation finals cut by less than two tenths of a second (2:03.00). Bella Forsman also participated for the Bulls, placing 40th (2:04.97).

Aguilar competed in the 50-yard butterfly, posting a time of 25.16. The senior missed the consolation finals qualifying time of 25.11 by less than a tenth of a second.  

Pauly finished 30th in the preliminary round of the 50-yard breaststroke with a time of 29.35. Grace Rider trailed to take 34th (29.41).

Strine participated in the preliminary round of the 50-yard freestyle, finishing the event in 23.68 to place 45th. The junior was nearly three-tenths of a second shy of the consolation finals cut (23.32). Jurgelon (46th, 23.69) and Bulat (59th, 23.92) also competed for the Bulls.

Wasmuth posted a season-best time of 26.37 in the 50-yard backstroke. The freshman placed 55th in the event.
 
DAY TWO
Elise McCaul was the first of two Buffalo swimmers to compete in the finals on day two. The senior placed 18th in the 400-yard individual medley, taking eighth in the consolation finals heat with a time of 4:23.53. McCaul opened day two on a strong note for the Bulls, qualifying for the finals of the event by placing 17th of 53 swimmers with a time of 4:22.81. Nemes also competed in the preliminary round, finishing 21st with a time of 4:23.45 and missing the finals cut by less than three tenths of a second (4:23.17).

Aguilar was the second of the Bulls' finals qualifiers on day two. The senior competed in the consolation finals of the 100-yard butterfly, placing 13th overall and third in the heat with a time of 53.79. Aguilar qualified for the finals by placing 14th of 52 swimmers in the preliminary round (54.44).

Pauly competed in the 100-yard breaststroke preliminary round for the Bulls. The sophomore placed 33rd of 54 swimmers with a time of 1:03.41. Pauly missed the top-20 consolation finals cut by less than a second (1:02.84).

The Bulls placed 22nd in the 200-yard medley relay. The team of Wasmuth, Rider, Aguilar and Jurgelon finished the event in 1:42.74. The program then concluded day two by placing 12th of 35 teams in the 800-yard freestyle relay. Forsman, McCaul, Bulat and Nemes combined to finish the event in 7:22.12.
 
DAY THREE
Nemes highlighted day three for the program by competing in the consolation finals of the 200-yard butterfly. The freshman placed third in the heat with a personal time of 1:59.90, taking 12th overall. Nemes' finals time was a new personal best that ranks seventh in program history. The freshman qualified for the consolation finals by finishing 17th of 51 swimmers in the preliminary round with a time of 2:02.31.

Aguilar competed in the 100-yard individual medley. The senior finished 25th in the field of 65 swimmers with a time of 57.34. Aguilar's time was a season-best for the Bulls and just shy of her personal record (57.20). Three more Bulls competed in the preliminary round of the event. Forsman placed 38th (57.72), Rider finished 52nd (58.54) and Nemes placed 55th (58.69).

Wasmuth finished 32nd in the 200-yard backstroke preliminary round with a time of 2:00.80. The freshman was under two seconds shy of the consolation finals cut (1:59.37) and her personal best in the event (1:59.42), which ranks sixth in program history.

Jurgelon competed in the 100-yard freestyle, placing 45th of 67 swimmers in the preliminary round with a time of 51.42. The junior was less than a second shy of the consolation finals cut (50.65). Strine (51st, 51.63) and Bulat (55th, 51.78) also competed for the program.

Pauly finished 31st of 47 swimmers in the 200-yard breaststroke preliminary round (2:19.28).
 
UP NEXT
The swimming and diving season will be concluded with NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships, where freshman diver Adele Melamud will represent the Bulls in one-meter diving on Thursday, March 19th, and in three-meter diving on Friday, March 20th.


Eastern Swimmers Wrap Up Season at CSCAA National Invitational Championship
OCALA, Fla. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University swimmers finished the 2025-26 season at the 2026 College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) National Invitational Championships at the F.A.S.T. Facility in Ocala, Fla., Thursday-Saturday, March 12-14.

The swimmers were highlighted by Nehir Oz and her program No. 9 time of 16:44.48 in the 1,650y freestyle for an 11th place finish. Additionally, Eastern saw four personal best times and two qualifications for the final sessions.

How it Happened
The Eagles had 11 swimmers qualified to compete in the meet, with eight in individual events, and four relay teams.

Nina LaRosa qualified for the B final in both the 50y breaststroke and 100y breaststroke on days one and two of competition, swimming the 50y breaststroke prelim in 28.67, and the 100y breaststroke in 1:02.83. In the 50y breaststroke B final, she finished in 11th place in a personal-best 28.09 and earned 16th in the 100y breaststroke B final in 1:02.32.

Shayne Patrick swam a personal best time of 58.42 in the 100y individual medley. In addition to Oz, Marianna Fardella also swam a personal best in the 1,650y freestyle with a time of 16:55.62.
 

Ohio Swimming & Diving Competes at CSCAA National Invitational Championship
OCALA, Florida. – 
The Ohio swim team traveled to Ocala, Florida, this past week (Mar. 12-14) and concluded their season at the 2026 CSCAA National Invitational Championships, at the FAST Facility. Overall, Ohio finished in 22nd place, scoring 172 total points.

In the first event, Thursday night, the Bobcats' 200-yard free relay, consisting of Tori WittenbergJordan ClaypooleKatie Buroker, and Melanie Schweikertfinished in 7th place with a time of 1:32.65.

In the 50-yard backstroke, freshman Lily Baumgartner finished third in the consolation final, 13th overall, with a time of 25.37.

Wittenberg competed in the 50-yard freestyle consolation final, earning a seventh-place finish, 17th overall, with a time of 23.31.

In finals on Friday night, the Bobcat 200-yard medley relay, consisting of sophomore Leah Guess , Buroker, Claypoole, and Wittenberg, finished in 28th place with a time of 1:43.68.

Two Bobcats swam in the 100-yard backstroke consolation final, with Baumgartner finishing second in the consolation final, 12th overall, with a time of 53.97, and Schweikert finishing fifth in the consolation final, 15th overall, with a time of 54.40.

In the 800-yard freestyle relay, Katrina KollinAshlyn MorrJana Macik, and Juliana Slaninka finished in 14th with a time of 7:23.56.

On the final day of competition, Schweikert started off the night in the 200-yard backstroke final, where she finished in eighth place with a time of 1:57.41.
Macik competed in the 200-yard butterfly final in ninth place with a time of 2:01.78.

In the final event of the night, the 400-yard freestyle relay consisting of Morr, Wittenberg, Claypoole, and Buroker finished in 19th place with a time of 3:24.28.

To finish out the 2025-2026 season, junior Zita Szoke and senior Casadie DiBetta will compete in the NCAA Championships in Atlanta, Georgia, March 18-21 at Georgia Tech University. Szoke and DiBetta will both compete in multiple events for the Bobcats.
