CLEVELAND – The second round of the MAC-SBC Challenge — a scheduling alliance in men’s and women’s basketball — is set for this weekend. The matchups are based on real-time NET rankings. The MAC women’s programs will host the February matchups.
UMass (16-4, 8-2 MAC) will host James Madison on CBS Sports Network on Sunday, Feb. 8, at 12 p.m. ET. All other matchups are scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 7, on ESPN+. A full schedule can be found below:

Five MAC squads opened the 2025-26 season with road victories over Sun Belt opponents in the first round of the challenge:
- Miami 63, Coastal Carolina 53
- UMass 58, Old Dominion 52
- Bowling Green 82, Louisiana 67
- Ohio 72, Texas State 66
- Ball State 68, Arkansas State 66
The MAC claimed the 2024-25 Battle for the Belt with 15 wins over two rounds of the challenge. To open the season, the MAC won 8 of the 12 matchups before claiming seven victories on the road in February.
