KENT, Ohio –  The Kent State Soccer finished-up the regular season with a win at home over the Central Michigan Chippewas on Sunday by a score of 2-1. The victory extended KSU's unbeaten streak to six games and clinched them a top-three seed in the Mid-American Conference Tournament down in Columbus. It will be the 19th time the blue and gold have qualified for the conference tournament in 27 years as a program.

Both defenses started off strong, but the Flashes were able to get on the board first late in the first half as Samantha Miller scored on a header on assists from Jules Dolinski and Ava Lukyan in the 36th-minute to give the Flashes a 1-0 lead heading into the halftime break.

The Flashes kept the offense moving well in the second half as they were able to score again in the 61st-minute. Allison Collins moved the ball down the left side of the field and found Josie Morgan who scored from distance for her first goal of the season to double her team's lead. The Chippewas would score in the 78th-minute, but Kent State's defense would hang tough for the remaining 11 to come away with the win in the regular-season finale.

Both teams were able to fire-off a lot of shots in the contest as KSU narrowly outshot CMU by a count of 20-18, while both teams were even in shots-on-goal with 10 a piece. BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Junior Haley Wolf's first collegiate goal proved to be the game winner, as the Bowling Green State University women's soccer team posted a 2-0 win over Ohio University on Sunday afternoon (Nov. 1). The Mid-American Conference match was held at Cochrane Stadium.

Senior Emme Butera also scored for the Falcons (8-3-6, 4-2-5 MAC), who clinched a berth in the MAC Tournament with the victory.

BGSU will be the fifth seed for the six-team conference tourney, which begins Saturday (Nov. 7) at ScottsMiracle-Gro Field in Columbus.

Junior Payton O'Malley made four saves in the Falcons' shutout win.

For the Bobcats (5-10-2, 2-7-2 MAC), Ayla Rammel and Bella Wyatt each played 45 minutes between the posts, and each surrendered one goal. Rammel had two saves and Wyatt one for the 'Cats, who also had a team save.

Wolf's goal came with just over six minutes gone. She took a pass from senior Audrey Oliver on the left side of the field, and quickly tapped the ball ahead to senior Ella Kane in the penalty area. Kane attempted a quick shot that was blocked, but Kane was first to the rebound.

Kane tapped the ball back to Wolf, who was on the left side of the area near the 18-yard line. The junior quickly settled the ball and lofted a curving shot toward the upper right corner. The leaping Rammel got a hand on the ball, but could not keep it out of the net.

The Bobcats entered the day's action already eliminated from MAC Tournament contention, but kept battling after surrendering the early goal. Ohio hit the woodwork with a pair of second-half shots, but could not find the tying goal, and Butera and the Falcons netted the clinching goal with just over nine minutes remaining.

The scoring sequence began when Wolf blocked an Ohio pass near midfield, with the ball going to Kane. Kane found Wolf on the left side of the field, with Wolf playing a cross through the box just outside the six-yard line.

Wolf's ball went past several players and found freshman Mia Ugarte, who hit a shot that was blocked. But, the ball caromed directly to Butera on the six-yard line, and the senior quickly blasted a shot past Wyatt to double the BG lead.

Ohio had a 14-12 advantage in total shot attempts, but the Falcons had a 6-4 lead in shots on goal. Both teams had four corner kicks in the contest.
