MAC Well-Represented in 2025 NFHCA Preseason Honors

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The National Field Hockey Coaches Association announced its 2025 Division I National Preseason Coaches’ Poll this week. Newcomer to the league, Massachusetts, represents the MAC from a team standpoint, currently sitting at No. 14 in this season’s initial NFHCA rankings.

The Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I Coaches Poll is a composite ranking of the top 20 teams with a .500 or better record in the nation each week. Each Division I conference is permitted one vote for the ranking each week, with each designated conference head or associate head coach voter serving on the NFHCA Coaches Poll Committee. Polls are announced every Tuesday during the field hockey playing season. The Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I National Coaches Poll is voted on by NFHCA member coaches and has no bearing on selection to the NCAA Division I Field Hockey Championship.

The NFHCA also announced its 2025 Division I Preseason Watchlist, which included 14 total Mid-American Conference student-athletes. This list is intended to showcase those field hockey student-athletes with the strongest potential for consideration to the current year’s NFHCA All-Region and All-American teams. To be nominated for the 2025 NFHCA Watchlist, student-athletes must have been previously recognized for their outstanding field hockey abilities within the past two years (NFHCA All-Region, NFHCA All-American, All-Conference, Senior Nexus Championship selection, NCAA All-Tournament Team, and/or U.S. National or International Team roster) and nominated by their NFHCA member coach.

This list does not constitute a nomination or selection to the NFHCA All-Region or All-American teams. Student-athletes not listed on the NFHCA Watchlist may still be nominated for NFHCA All-Region and All-American recognition.
