Delaney Robeson had a monster weekend at the plate and led Kent State at the Mizuno Showdown with a .684/.700/1.211 slash, 7 runs scored, 3 home runs and 7 RBIs. Robeson went 13-for-19 and had multiple hits in all 5 games, beginning with a 4-for-4 performance against Harvard. She recorded the 100th hit of her Golden Flashes career during the third inning of Saturday’s win over Saint Joseph’s and went 5-for-7 with 1 home run and 3 RBIs in the 2 games against the host Tar Heels. On the season, she is the MAC leader in batting average (.458) and hits (27).

Junior starting pitcher Ella Whitney turned in another brilliant weekend for the Cardinals, leading the staff with a 1.50 ERA and a .246 average against over three appearances between MTSU Invitational and Purple & Gold Challenge. Over 14.0 innings of work, she allowed just 15 hits and three earned runs, while striking out 10 batters. She was credited with the pitching win in Ball State’s 10-1 (6) victory over Illinois State (March 1), allowing just five hits and one unearned run over her 6.0 innings of work. She also struck out four batters over 1.2 innings of relief work versus Northern Iowa (March 2), while adding six over her 6.1 innings against MTSU (Feb. 28).
