Eagles Roll to 86-48 Victory Over Cleary

The Eastern Michigan University men's basketball team topped Cleary University, 86-48, Friday, Dec. 5, at the George Gervin GameAbove Center.

Eastern led for 38:19 of the contest as 11 different Eagles converted at least one field goal.

Godslove Nwabude (Anambra State, Nigeria/Mt. Zion Prep (Md.)) led EMU with a career-high 14 points, a career-high five blocks, and nine rebounds in 20:21 of court time.

Addison Patterson (Mississauga, Ontario/Bella Vista/Northwestern State) added 13 points with seven rebounds and four assists while Braelon Green (Southfield, Mich./Southfield/Bowling Green) chipped in 10 points.

Cleary scored the game's first bucket but a 17-2 Eagle run quickly put Eastern in control of the contest.

EMU's lead bounced around from 8-15 points for the next eight minutes before a quick 10-0 burst boosted Eastern's advantage to 21 points as the Eagles took a 44-23 at halftime.

Eastern opened the second half with a 15-2 run to totally break the game open, leading 59-25 with 14:30 left.

EMU and Cleary played level for the next 10 minutes as the Green and White closed the game on a 12-4 spurt.

Eastern travels to play at Purdue Fort Wayne Wednesday, Dec. 10, at 8 p.m. The game will be played at Memorial Coliseum.
