Bowling Green 3, Akron 2 | Box Score
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University volleyball team battled back against Akron on Saturday (Nov. 8), claiming a five-set match in reverse sweep fashion. After falling behind 2-0 in the sets, the Falcons fought for a 25-22 third set score. The momentum rolled into a 25-19 fourth set score that sent the match to a fifth set. In the fifth, Bowling Green registered a 15-10 score to complete the comeback. The win moves the Falcons to 14-14 on the season while being 8-8 in the MAC with two matches to play.

As for the individual stats, Amanda Otten led the way for the Falcons. She came a dig shy of a triple-double, finishing with 45 assists, 11 kills and nine digs. Otten also led the team in aces with a pair. As for the back row, Sydnie Hernandez paced the team with 23, her sixth 20-dig match of the season. Avery Anders added 14 while Isabelle Laube logged seven, both matching their respective career-highs. Jessica Andrews joined the effort with a team-leading 13 kills as well as six blocks, tying Helen Wilford for the team lead.

Falcon Stat Facts
  • The reverse sweep is the first of the season for the Falcons with the last at home coming on Oct. 4, 2024 against Western Michigan. The last overall reverse sweep for BGSU was at St. John's in the NIVC Semifinals on Dec. 14, 2024. 
  • Amanda Otten nearly registered a triple-double for the Falcons, finishing with a team-high 45 assists, a season-high 11 kills and nine digs. While she didn't hit the mark of a triple-double, she did log her team-leading eighth double-double of the season. As for her 11 kills, they came on 18 attacks with just one error for a .556 hitting percentage. Otten added a team-high two aces as well. 
  • Sydnie Hernandez led the back row for the Falcons with a team-leading 23 digs. The outing marked Hernandez's sixth 20-dig match of the season, coming just three shy of her career-high. 
  • Jessica Andrews paced the attack with a team-high 13 kills. Andrews also tied for the team lead in blocks with six and added five digs and an ace. 
  • Anastasija Bozic matched her career-high for both kills (11) and assists (3) while adding eight digs, one ace and one block for a full stat line. 
  • Avery Anders and Isabelle Laube both matched their career-highs in digs with Anders registering 14 and Laube logging seven. 
  • Kendall Williams landed a career-high eight kills for the Falcons on a career-high 19 attacks. She added the team's lone solo block in addition to three block assists. 
  • Helen Wilford joined in the team-lead for blocks, registering six block assists. Wilford added three kills to her stat line as well.

The Falcons will go on the road to wrap up the regular season, heading to Buffalo. BGSU and UB are set for a 6 p.m. start on Nov. 14 before concluding the regular season on Nov. 15 with a 4 p.m. first serve.


Toledo 3, Buffalo 0 | Box Score
TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's volleyball team tallied a 3-0 sweep (25-20, 25-12, 25-23) over Buffalo on Saturday evening at Savage Arena.

The win moves the Rockets to 19-9 overall and picked up their 10th Mid-American Conference win of the season. This marks the fifth-straight season that UT has won double-figure conference matchups.

Following the match, Toledo honored its four graduating seniors - Anna AlfordIremnur ElmasMacy Medors and Kelsey Smith.

Sophomore Olivia Heitkamp led the Rockets' offense, tallying 11 kills for her 15th contest this season with double-figure terminations. Redshirt sophomore Sierra Pertzborn added nine kills on a .429 clip to go along with a team-high six blocks. Redshirt junior Sophie Catalano and freshman Jessica Costlow each poured in nine kills throughout the match.

Sophomore libero Grace Freiberger totaled 17 digs while senior setter Smith recorded her 13th double-double of the season with 36 assists and 10 digs.

Miami 3, Central Michigan 1 | Box Score
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich.— The Miami University volleyball team (15-13, 9-7 MAC) secured a four-set victory (22-25, 25-21, 25-22, 25-20) over Central Michigan (9-19, 6-10 MAC) on Saturday at McGuirk Arena. Lauren Coyne led the match with 18 kills, while Chelsea Williams also added double-digit kills (14). Hayden Hicks (27) and Kamryn Utley (24) recorded the most assists for Miami. Utley also matched her career-high of three service aces to lead everyone on the court. Defensively, Gentry Warrick led all players with five blocks, while Lindsay Kahren (15) and Molly Creech (11) led the team in digs.

NOTES:
  • The RedHawks have now won four consecutive matches.
  • Warrick now ranks seventh all-time in Miami program history in career blocks assists (329).
  • The Red and White recorded 64 kills in comparison to 54 kills from the Chippewas.
  • The RedHawks have now reached 15 wins in a season for the first time since 2019.

The RedHawks return home for two more regular season matches against Eastern Michigan next weekend. Miami will host the Eagles on Friday, Nov. 14 at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 15 at 4 p.m.


Western Michigan 3, Kent State 0 | Box Score
KALAMAZOO, Mich. – 
The Western Michigan volleyball team celebrated its Senior Day on Saturday by earning its second consecutive sweep (25-13, 25-20, 25-18) of Kent State.
 
Following the win, Western Michigan celebrated its five seniors, Reeghan BoyerMolly BrownMary Clare BrusekAmanda Glanton and Maddie Kmetz.

Leah Richmond filled up the stats sheet for the Broncos, racking up 27 assists, 11 digs and eight blocks to come up just shy of the fifth triple-double in program history. Brusek was the main beneficiary of Richmond's distribution, as the senior celebrated her final home match for the Brown and Gold with a match-high 12 kills. Glanton posted eight kills without an error and tied with Richmond for the team lead in blocks with eight. Boyer collected a match-high 14 digs.
  
Western Michigan wraps up the regular season next week with a two-match series at Ohio. First serve for Thursday's series opener between the Broncos and Bobcats is set for 6 pm.      

Ohio 3, Northern Illinois 2 | Box Score
DEKALB, Ill. – The Ohio volleyball team (13-15, 11-5 MAC) earned a major comeback win over Northern Illinois (11-14, 4-12 MAC), defeating the Huskies in a 3-2 decision (15-25, 12-25, 25-23, 25-22, 18-16) on Saturday, Nov. 8. This win helped Ohio clinched a spot in the 2025 Mid-American Conference Volleyball Championships.
 
Ohio finished with 55 kills, five aces, seven blocks, 47 assists and 59 digs. Northern Illinois finished 52 kills, eight aces, 13 blocks, 44 assists and 61 digs.
 
Juniors Gentry Brown and Emily Waddell both led the team with 10 kills each. Brown also finished with two assists, two aces, one block, seven digs and 12.5 points. Waddell also contributed three blocks, two digs and 12.0 points. Juniors Olivia Gardner Torre Kildow and freshman Bailey Blair all tallied eight kills each for Ohio.
 
Senior Kendall White recorded a team-high 30 assists in addition to tallying three kills, three blocks, five digs and 4.5 points. Junior Kendall Hickey led Ohio with a team-high 16 digs.
  
The Bobcats will be back in action when they host Western Michigan on Thursday, Nov. 13 at 6 p.m. ET.
