Ball State 3, Kent State 0 | Box Score
KENT, Ohio - The Ball State offense was firing on all cylinders Saturday afternoon, hitting a season-best .437 (43-5-87) to sweep past Kent State by a score of 3-0 (25-20, 25-11, 25-19) at the M.A.C. Center.

With the win, the Cardinals moved to 17-9 on the year and to 13-1 in Mid-American Conference action. With four matches remaining in the league season, Ball State is one win shy of locking up at least a share of the MAC regular season championship and earning hosting rights to the 2026 MAC Volleyball Championship.

Ball State's .437 hitting mark in Saturday's sweep of the Golden Flashes (8-17; 3-11) is the ninth-best single-match total in program history and was fueled by a match-high 15 kills and .519 (15-1-27) attack percentage by sophomore outside Carson Tyler. Tyler, who also had seven digs, a solo block and a service ace in the win, did not commit an attack error until the third set.

In fact, the Cardinals did not trail the entire match, with the lone tie, minus the start of each set, came at 11-11 in the third. However, Ball State used a kill from junior setter Lindsey Green to spark a three-point run and never looked back.

Green, who dished out 20 assists, also served up five of the Cardinals' nine aces and tallied six total digs. Freshman setter Reese Axness also had a solid outing, handing out 13 assists and collecting six digs. Their combined effort helped nine different Ball State players score at least one kill in the victory.

Behind Tyler's offensive performance, junior middles Gwen Crull and Camryn Wise, along with sophomore opposite Tiffany Snook, were tied for second on the squad with six kills apiece. Crull hit .667 (6-0-9), Wise hit .462 (6-0-13) and Snook hit .500 (6-1-10) in the victory.

In the backcourt, sophomore libero Sophie Ledbetter led all players with 14 digs, while sophomore defensive specialist Elizabeth Tabeling added seven. Ball State also held a 5.0 to 2.0 advantage in total blocks which helped limit Kent State to a .190 (34-14-105) attack percentage for the match.

Mackenzie McGuire led the Golden Flashes with nine kills, while Hailey Brenner notched a team-high nine digs.

The Ball State women's volleyball team closed the road portion of its 2025 regular season slate next week with a pair of matches at Eastern Michigan. The Cardinals and the Eagles will square off at 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday at the Gervin GameAbove Center.
