CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The No. 11 Miami RedHawks are set to take on the No. 2 Northwestern Wildcats in the first ever Elite Eight appearance in program history. The historic matchup is slated for 1:00 PM ET from the University of Virginia.
Miami advanced to the Elite Eight after defeating the fourth-seeded Virginia Cavaliers, 2-1, on their home field this past Friday. Freshman midfielder Malena Sabez got Miami on the board in the first period to even the score at one, before freshman striker Justina Intzes pushed the RedHawks ahead with the eventual game-winner in the third quarter.
Sunday’s national quarterfinal at Turf Field on the campus of UVA can be seen on ESPN+. The winner will advance to the NCAA Field Hockey Final Four and take on the winner of No. 1 North Carolina vs. No. 8 Duke. The 2025 NCAA Field Hockey Semifinals and Championship will be held at Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium in Durham, North Carolina on November 21 & 23.
