Two-Minute Drill
• Qian Magwood’s 43-yard touchdown reception and redshirt freshman Donovan Hamilton’s grab on a successful two-point conversion with less than a minute remaining sealed a 20-14 victory for Ball State over Ohio on Saturday. The Ball State defense, highlighted by Nathan Voorhis’ 3.5 sacks and eight tackles, shut out the Bobcats in the second half.
• Western Michigan picked up its third-straight win and first MAC road win of the season after taking down UMass, 21-3, on Saturday. The Bronco defense allowed just 260 total yards. WMU recorded five sacks, led by Nadame Tucker with two, and forced one turnover.
• Akron posted a 28-22 win over Central Michigan on Homecoming. Ben Finley threw for 252 yards and three touchdowns, while Jordan Gant paced the Zips’ rushing attack with a career-high 176 yards. Gant also tacked on 28 receiving yards and a touchdown.
• Miami scored 25 unanswered points to rally for a 25-14 victory over Northern Illinois on Saturday to begin Mid-American Conference play. Dequan Finn threw for 170 yards and added 90 yards on the ground in Miami’s second straight win.
• Buffalo rallied to defeat Eastern Michigan, 31-30, in overtime on Saturday afternoon at UB Stadium to improve to 2-0 in MAC play. Victor Snow had his best game as a Bull, finishing with six catches for a career-high 136 yards, two receiving touchdowns, and the game-winning rushing score.
