MAC Announces Final Women’s Soccer Player of the Week Winners

Offensive Player of the Week
Addie Chester, Ball State, Forward/Midfielder
Senior, Muncie, Ind. (Delta)


Chester scored just over two minutes into Wednesday afternoon's win at Northern Illinois and added an assist about a minute later to give Ball State a 2-0 edge in an eventual 2-1 decision. The MAC leader in goals and points entering the contest finished the regular season with 11 goals and 27 points thanks to Wednesday's performance.

Sophia Penegor, Miami, Defender
Redshirt Sophomore, Dublin, Ohio (Dublin Jerome)


Sophia Penegor played in all 90 minutes of the RedHawks' shutout victory against Kent State. The Miami defense didn't allow a shot in the second half and only yielded three in total. The redshirt sophomore played every minute during the regular season and recorded the highest scoring and point total season of her career.

Heidi Thomasma, Western Michigan, Midfielder
Senior, Grand Rapids, Mich. (Calvin Christian)


Senior defender Heidi Thomasma spearheaded a strong defensive effort in the final regular season game of the season, limiting Buffalo to zero goals and just three shots on goal. The Bulls entered the game averaging more than 13 shots per game. The shutout was WMU's eighth of the season.

Brylee Borgman, Central Michigan, Goalkeeper
Junior, Norton Shores, Mich. (Mona Shores)


Borgman collected a shutout on the final day of the regular season against EMU, facing 17 shots in total for seven saves.
