CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference announced its 2025 Women's Soccer All-MAC teams, Forward of the Year, Midfielder of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Goalkeeper of the Year, Freshman of the Year and Coach of the Year on Friday, as voted on by the league's head coaches.
Western Michigan’s Lewis Robinson was named MAC Coach of the Year for the third year in a row and Ball State’s Addie Chester was named Forward of the Year.
Western Michigan’s Drew Martin took home Midfielder of the Year, while teammate Mira Pierre-Webster earned Defensive Player of the Year honors.
Buffalo’s Lexie Thompson picked up Goalkeeper of the Year recognition for the second straight year and Western Michigan’s Reagan Sulaver rounded out the Speciality Awards by being named the Freshman of the Year.
Robinson was named the MAC Coach of the Year for the third straight year, guiding Western Michigan to one of the best seasons in MAC history. The Broncos finished the MAC season with a 10-1-1 record and 31 total points. That is the second highest point total in league history. Robinson and the Broncos have won three straight MAC regular season titles, becoming the first team in league history to accomplish that feat. WMU is 26-1-7 over the last three seasons.
Chester finished the regular season leading the MAC in goals (11) and points (27) while delivering four game-winning goals during her senior season. The Muncie, Ind., native set a program record with four MAC Offensive Player of the Week honors and became the second student-athlete in program history to score double digit goals in multiple seasons after getting 10 in 2024.
Martin was named the Midfielder of the Year after posting incredible numbers. The Bloomfield Hills, Mich. native had a team-leading 17 points in conference play. The Brown and Gold scored 28 times in league play, and Martin was in on 14 of those tallies. Martin had three goals and a league-leading 11 assists in MAC play. She had at least one point in eight of the 12 conference matches this season.
Pierre-Webster was announced as the Defensive Player of the Year. The Canadian defender is a two-time recipient of the award, claiming the honor back in 2023 as well. Pierre-Webster spearheaded the league's best defense, limiting opponents to just eight goals in conference play. She was also an offensive weapon, scoring four points on one goal and two assists against MAC foes. Her lone goal was the game winner against Eastern Michigan.
Thompson is the first player in MAC history to win Goalkeeper of the Year in back-to-back seasons and the first Bull to win a specialty award in consecutive seasons. The Bulls have now won Goalkeeper of the Year in three of the last four years. The Levittown, NY native has compiled a 12-4-2 overall record and ranks in the top 30 nationally in goals against average (.68) and shutouts (8) while also recording a .813 save percentage and 53 saves across 18 contests. She currently ranks first in program history in career goals against average (0.70), third in shutouts (21) and fourth in wins (27).
Sulaver claimed the Freshman of the Year award, becoming the first Bronco to ever claim that honor. She started all 12 games in net, boasting a 10-1-1 record to go along with a 0.43 goals against average and .844 save percentage. Conference opponents were only able to beat her five times this season, as she posted six shutouts in league play.
The MAC Women's Soccer Championship will take place on Saturday, Nov. 1-Friday, Nov. 7 at Historic Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio, marking the first time in league history the championship will be played at a neutral site.
Quarterfinal action opens as No. 3 Buffalo takes on No. 6 Bowling Green at 1 pm ET before No. 4 Ball State and No. 5 Kent State face off at 4 pm ET.
The semifinals are set for Tuesday, Nov. 4 at 1 and 4 pm ET as the top-seeded Western Michigan Broncos and second-seeded Miami RedHawks received first-round byes.
The winner of each semifinal match will advance to the championship, which is scheduled for 7:30 pm ET on Friday, Nov. 7.
