Ball State Cardinals | Results
TOLEDO, Ohio – The Ball State women's swimming and diving program put on a stellar performance against Mid-American Conference rival Toledo, winning 15 of 16 events to take down the Rockets, 221-78, Saturday afternoon.
On top of nearly sweeping the hosting Rockets, the Cardinals took the top three positions in six events, and the top four spots in three.
Senior
Payton Kelly, sophomore
Anna Keen and freshman
Addy Czarnecki took two individual victories each. Kelly took the top placement in the 100 backstroke (55.32) and 100 freestyle (50.25), while Keen found wins in the 50 freestyle (23.22) and the 100 butterfly (55.16). Czarnecki claimed first in both the 1000 (10:18.95) and 500 (5:03.30) freestyles, earning the first two individual wins of her collegiate career.
The freshman dominance didn't end there, as
Addie Beasley earned a winning time of 1:05.49 in the 100 breaststroke, and
Milagros Amione secured the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:04.98.
Also earning individual wins were
Alexa Von Holtz in the 200 butterfly (2:04.01),
Ava Butterfield in the 200 backstroke (2:06.07), and
Maya McDonald in the 200 breaststroke (2:22.50).
Ball State went to work on the diving boards as well, with
Grace Walker walking away with wins in both the 1-meter (267.45) and 3-meter (244.65).
Eeva-Liisa Gibson placed second on both boards, scoring 206.25 on the 1-meter and 218.85 on the 3-meter.
The women took both of the day's relay events, starting with the team of Kelly, McDonald, Keen and Butterfield in the 200 medley relay (1:43.07). The trio of Kelly, Keen and Butterfield later teamed up with freshman
Reagan Graves to secure the win in the 400 freestyle relay (3:27.37)
The Cardinals return home to the Lewellen Aquatic Center Nov. 7 to host Ohio. Events are scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. ET.
Ohio Bobcats | Results
ATHENS, Ohio – The Ohio Swimming and Diving team returned to the Aquatic Center (Oct. 25) for the second day of the tri-meet with Buffalo and Marshall. The Bobcats earn their first two wins of the season, defeating Buffalo 213-147 and Marshall 247-106.
Day two of the tri-meet kicked off with 1-meter diving, where junior
Astrid Pichardo finished with a score of 255.55, placing fourth, and freshman
Bella Basford (Cincinnati, Ohio) finished with a score of 244.25, placing fifth.
Ohio opened the swim portion of the meet, claiming first place in the 200-yard medley relay. Freshman
Lily Baumgartner (Ada, Ohio), Senior
Casadie DiBetta (St. Clairsville, Ohio), Junior
Zita Szoke (Serbia, Becej), and freshman
Tori Wittenberg (Medford, N.J.) finished with a final time of 1:38.94.
In the 500-yard freestyle, freshman
Katrina Kollin (Dublin, Ohio) earned a third-place finish, with a time of 4:57.79, and senior
Anna McGrath (Lewis Center, Ohio) finished in fourth with a time of 4:59.25.
The Bobcats had three swimmers place in the top-five in the 100-yard back, including Baumgartner, who finished in second with a time of 55.02, junior
Melanie Schweikert (Maineville, Ohio finished in third with a time of 55.18, and senior
Allison Schrank (Blaine, Minn.) finished in fourth place with a time of 55.85.
Ohio claimed three of the top-five spots in the 100-yard breaststroke, with Dibetta placing first with a time of 1:01.06, senior
Emily Ellsworth (Westerville, Ohio) finishing in fourth place with a time of 1:03.98, and freshman
Juliette Daigneault (Scottsdale, Ariz) finishing in fifth with a time of 1:04.31.
In the 100-yard fly, sophomore
Jordan Claypoole (Parkersburg, W. Va) claimed first place with a time of 53.97, and freshman
Jana Macik (Aldie, Va.) finished in fourth place with a time of 55.04.
In the 200-yard free, junior
Katie Buroker (Zionsville, Ind.) finished in third place with a time of 1:52.11.
Ellsworth took second place in the 400-yard IM, with a time of 4:23.44.
In the final event of the day, Ohio claimed first place in the 400-yard freestyle relay. Wittenberg, Szoke, Claypoole, and Buroker finished with a time of 3:20.51.

Buffalo Bulls | Results
ATHENS, OHIO – The University at Buffalo swimming and diving program competed in a tri-meet at Ohio University on Friday and Saturday, going head-to-head with the Bobcats and Marshall. The Bulls defeated the Thundering Herd, 180-173, but fell to the Bobcats, 213-140.
The Bulls moved to 3-3 all-time against the Thundering Herd with the win.
FRIDAY
The Bulls set the tone on day one with two event wins and three program all-time top 10 performances.
Elise McCaul (2nd, 10:12.29) and
Ava Cunningham (3rd, 10:14.63) both finished inside the top three swimmers in the 1,000-yard freestyle. Both times were personal records. McCaul's time of 10:12.29 moved to eighth all-time in program history, with Cunningham's time of 10:14.3 ranking 10th.
Bella Forsman won the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:01.94. The sophomore earned her fourth individual event win of the season. Forsman was less than a second shy of her personal best time that ranks sixth in program history (2:01.15).
Forsman continued her momentum into the 200-yard breaststroke, taking third in the event with a time of 2:02.00. The sophomore was just over a second shy of reaching the program's all-time top 10 (2:00.85). Freshman
Kamilla Nemes placed fifth in the event (2:05.09).
Pinar Donmez finished second in the 200-yard breaststroke. The freshman's time of 2:14.69 was a personal record that rose to second all-time in program history.
Grace Rider (6th, 2:19.87) and
Ava Pauly (7th, 2:20.06) put three Bulls inside the top seven swimmers to place.
Freshman
Adele Melamud continued the Bulls' momentum in the diving well, taking first place in the three-meter event with a personal best score of 296.60. Melamud was just shy of the program's all-time top 10 (297.00). The freshman diver earned her third event win of the season.
The Bulls secured five of the top six spots in the three-meter event. Freshman
Tristan Krajcarski placed third (263.50),
Presley Dorsett and
Mallory Hanna tied for fourth (256.10) and
Maggie Meyers placed sixth (247.70).
SATURDAY
Melamud continued her momentum into day two, winning the one-meter diving event to open the competition with a score of 269.40. The freshman has won all four of the Bulls' diving events this season.
Four more Buffalo divers trailed Melamud to take five of the top seven spots. Meuwissen placed second (261.95), with Dorsett in third (256.20), Hanna in sixth (241.10) and Krajcarski in seventh (236.10).
The Buffalo swimmers rallied off the divers' energy, posting 13 top-five finishes in the final nine events.
McCaul took second place in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:57.60. Cunningham trailed to take sixth place in the event with a time of 5:01.37.
Donmez (2nd, 1:02.21) and Pauly (3rd, 1:02.91) posted top-three finishes in the 100-yard breaststroke. Both were personal best times that rose the ranks of the program's all-time top 10, with Donmez taking third and Pauly at eighth.
Nicole Aguilar (3rd, 54.56) and
Maddy Schnelzer (5th, 56.79) posted top-five finishes in the 100-yard butterfly. Aguilar's time was under a second shy of her personal best time in the event that ranks fourth in program history (53.63). Schnelzer missed the program's all-time top 10 by just over a second (55.32).
Abbey Gardner won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:50.86. The junior's time was just over half of a second shy of her personal record (1:50.32). McCaul trailed to take fourth with a time of 1:52.33 and freshman
Alex Bulat placed fifth (1:52.40).
Forsman won the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 4:19.89. The sophomore's first-place finish was her fifth of the season. Forsman's time was also just over three seconds shy of her personal record that ranks third in program history (4:16.60). Nemes took fourth for the Bulls with a time of 4:25.68.
The Bulls closed out the meet with a second-place finish in the 400-yard freestyle relay. The relay team of Aguilar, Bulat, McCaul, and
Amanda Jurgelon completed the event with a time of 3:25.68.
