Nhamoinesu, Kroeger, Mooldijk Collect Week 8 Field Hockey Accolades

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference has announced its Week 8 Field Hockey Award Winners, as voted on by the league's head coaches. Ohio freshman forward Tiana Nhamoinesu earned Offensive Player of the Week honors, while Massachusetts freshman defender/back Lina Kroeger collected Defensive Player of the Week accolades and Longwood sophomore Sophie Mooldijk secured her second Goalkeeper of the Week recognition this year to round out the latest batch of awards.

Tiana Nhamoinesu, Freshman, Forward, Ohio

Freshman Tiana Nhamoinesu continued her hot streak for the Bobcats this week, scoring two goals that proved to be the difference in Friday's win at Kent State, and adding a game-tying goal in yesterday's game vs Longwood. Nhamoinesu is one of the most consistent factors in the Bobcat attack, consistently putting pressure on opposing defenses with her speed and agility. Nhamoinesu continues to lead the team in shots and is now tied for the team lead in goals with four on the season.

MAC Field Hockey Defensive Player of the Week
Lina Kroeger, Freshman, Defender/Back, Massachusetts
Munich, Germany (Gymnasium Munich North Elite School of Sports)

Freshman Lina Kroeger was a key piece for a Massachusetts defense which allowed just one goal in a pair of MAC victories over James Madison and App State. The Munich, Germany native started at center back in both wins, assisting the Minutewomen secure their seventh shutout this season, good for first in the conference and second nationally. Kroeger also made an impact in the offensive penalty corner unity, scoring her fourth goal of the season and recording 11 shots.

Sophie Mooldijk, Sophomore, Longwood

Sophomore Sophie Mooldijk piled up a career high 20 saves against Appalachian State to keep Longwood in the match, and then racked up 13 saves at Ohio to earn the road win. The Lancer goalkeeper faced 50 shots on the week with 37 on target, stopping 33 of them in total.
