Devin Swoyer had his first career top-five finish this week, tying for fifth at the Purdue Invitational. The redshirt-freshman posted a three-under par 213 to lead NIU to a sixth place finish, ahead of fellow MAC members Toledo, Ball State and Ohio. Swoyer had NIU's lowest scores in Monday's first two rounds, carding a 72 and a 71. On Tuesday, Swoyer tied his season-low score with a 70 as the Huskies went six-under as a team for its second-lowest single round team score this fall. Swoyer is the first NIU freshman to have a top-five finish in a 54-hole event since 2023.
