No. 5 Bowling Green Takes Down No. 4 Central Michigan in Thrilling Quarterfinal

CLEVELAND, Ohio--
No. 5 Bowling Green clinched a spot in the 2024 MAC Men's Basketball Tournament semifinals, defeating No. 4 Central Michigan, 66-56, inside Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse on Thursday afternoon. The Falcons will take on No. 8 Kent State on Friday, March 15 at 5 p.m. ET on CBS Sports Network. 

This quarterfinal thriller had nine lead changes. Central Michigan held the lead for a total of 18:24 minutes, while Bowling Green held the lead for 13:10. 

In the second half, Bowling Green shot at a 46.2 percent clip in the second half, including 55.6% (5-of-9) from behind the arc. 

Trey Thomas and Rashaun Agee both produced impactful performances for the Falcons. Thomas posted a team-high 20 points on 5-of-10 shooting, including four three pointers. Additionally, Thomas was a perfect 6-of-6 from the charity stripe. 

Agee was a force down low, pulling down 17 boards while also tallying 13 points. This marked Agee's 17th double-double of the season. 

BGSU's Sam Towns also reached double figures, notching 10 points on three made field goals and four free throws. 

The Chippewas' offensive attack was led by three double-digit scoring performances, highlighted by Derrick Butler with 14 points. Brian Taylor posted 13 points, while Markis Harding added 12 points.
