CINCINNATI, Ohio –
The Miami University tennis team secured a win against University of Cincinnati. Though the Bearcats won the doubles point, the RedHawks responded by winning all six singles matches, giving Miami a 6-1 victory in Cincinnati.

BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo women's tennis team swept both of their matches at Miller Tennis Center on Friday, defeating Duquesne and Niagara by a score of 7-0. With the victories, the Bulls improve to 11-1 on the season.
In the morning match, the Bulls got off to a great start as
Deanne Choo and
Jagmeet Kaur cruised to a 6-0 win at third doubles and
Azra Deniz Comlek and
Laura Koralnik picked up a 6-3 win at the second position before
Ambre Amat and
Esmee Andresen completed the sweep with a 7-5 win at first doubles to give Buffalo a 1-0 lead in the match.
The Bulls then rolled through singles action, winning every match in straight sets. Comlek battled to a 7-6, 7-5 win at first singles, Kaur had a 6-0, 6-4 win at two and Koralnik continued her steady play with a 6-2, 6-0 win at three. Amat won 6-2, 6-1 at four while Andresen cruised to a 6-0, 6-2 win at five. Choo completed the sweep with a 6-3, 6-1 win at sixth singles.
It was more of the same in the evening match against Niagara as the Bulls took the doubles point with all three UB pairings picking up wins to put Buffalo up 1-0.
It was another solid performance in singles action as the Bulls once again took every match in straight sets. Comlek won 6-3, 6-2 at first singles, Koralnik cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 win at two and Andrsen won 6-2, 7-5 at three. Amat won 6-3, 6-1 at four while
Mariana Carvajal Torres picked up a 6-4, 6-2 win at five and Choo completed the sweep once again with a 6-1, 6-1 win at six.

KALAMAZOO, Mich.
– The Western Michigan women's tennis team remained undefeated at home this season after a 6-1 win over Oakland at West Hills Athletic Club on Friday afternoon.
DOUBLES
The Broncos secured the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 3.
Valeriya Monko teamed up with
Ariane Souligny at No. 1 to defeat Emilia Jarvinen and Edie Hammond 6-4. At No. 3 it was
Maya Perkucin and
Polina Khotko were first off the court with a 6-1 win over Tara Montreuil and Aya Orenstain, 6-1.
SINGLES
Freshman
Julia Frazier picked up her first career dual-match singles win and gave the Broncos a 2-0 lead with a 6-0, 6-3 win over Orenstain at No. 6. Monko was bumped up to No. 1 due to injuries and responded by giving WMU a 3-0 lead with a 6-4, 6-1 win over Jarvinen.
Polina Khotko was moved up to No. 2 and earned a 6-1, 6-2 win over Hammond to clinch the match victory for the Broncos. Perkucin got WMU its fifth point with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Alma Orenstain at No. 5, while Souligny earned the team's sixth and final point with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Hultqvist.
Northern Illinois
DeKALB, Ill. – The Northern Illinois University women's tennis team swept every match in picking up a pair of road wins Friday, defeating Western Illinois, 7-0, and Bradley, 4-0, to improve to 5-4 on the 2024 season.
The Huskies opened the day by winning the doubles point at Western Illinois as NIU's No. 1 and No. 3 doubles pairs each scored 6-1 wins. Singles went just as smoothly with all six NIU players scoring straight set wins. Sophomore
Nataly Ninova lost just two games en route to her win at No. 3 singles while junior
Angelica Ross recorded a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 6.
Just hours after wrapping up that win in Galesburg, Illinois, the Huskies traveled to Pekin, Illinois to take on Bradley. NIU once again claimed the doubles point with the No. 3 team of
Jenna Horne and
Reagan Welchwinning 7-4 in a tiebreaker to clinch the point after
Isabella Righi and
Diana Lukyanova won their match, 6-3.
Lukyanova and Ninova put the Huskies ahead 3-0 with straight set wins at the second and third singles spots, respectively. Welch scored the game-winning point with a three-set win, 3-6, 6-1, 6-1, over Bradley's Andra Sirbu.
On the day, Welch won both of her doubles matches with two different partners while Lukyanova, Ninova and Welch posted two singles wins apiece.
Ball State

MUNCIE, Ind. -
Isabel Tanjuatco's three-set thriller propelled the Cardinals to a 4-3 victory over the Penguins of Youngstown State Friday night at the Northwest YMCA. With the win, Ball State improved to 2-3 overall while Youngstown State dropped to 2-7 for the year.
It was a tightly contested doubles point between the Penguins and the Cardinals.
Sarah Shahbaz and Tanjuatco breezed past Maria Oliveira and Elinor Beazley on court three earning a 6-2 victory for BSU. Ball State then fell on the top court which knotted doubles play at 1-1. The No. 2 doubles duo of
Ella Hazelbaker and Elena Malkh were down 5-6 but tied it 6-6 to send the competition to a tiebreaker. Unfortunately, Youngstown State's Lorena Cedeno and Julia Marko would take the match and secure the doubles point with their 7-6 (7-2) victory.
Sarah Shahbaz tied the match 1-1 after winning at the No. 2 slot in singles, 6-2, 6-3. The Cardinals won on court No. 3 after Hrehor tallied a 6-3, 6-2 defeat over Lorena Cedeno to give BSU at 2-1 edge over Youngstown State.
After that, the Penguins took victories on courts five and one, respectively to go back up 3-2. The match would come down to the last two courts which were both in third sets.
Jacqueline Pearsall in exciting fashion won a three-set thriller over Line Greyling at the No. 6 position. Pearsall took the first frame 6-4 then dropped the second by the same score. Pearsall then won the third frame after being down but came back to win 6-4.
The match point came down to the No. 4 singles position. The score was 4-4 but Tanjuatco would serve to take the lead 5-4 and then ended up winning the next game to take the match for Ball State.
