KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The NCAA unveiled the bracket for the 2024 NCAA Volleyball Championship on Sunday evening, with Western Michigan drawing a first-round matchup against No. 4 seed Purdue, who will host first and second round matches in West Lafayette, Ind. This marks the second consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance for the Broncos and Mid-American Conference record 14th appearance in program history.
The Broncos and Boilermakers are set to face off in the first round on Thursday, Dec. 5, at 6:30 pm. The other first-round matchup in West Lafayette features the No. 5 seed BYU taking on Loyola Chicago. The winners of the first-round contests then square off the following day for a birth in the Sweet Sixteen.
Western Michigan went 20-12 during the regular season and finished tied for third in the MAC standings at 13-5. As the No. 4 seed at the Mid-American Conference Championship, the Broncos won three matches in three days over No. 5 Buffalo, No. 1 Bowling Green and No. 3 Ball State to capture their second consecutive MAC Tournament title and second straight NCAA Tournament berth.
The first and second rounds of the 2024 NCAA Volleyball Championship are scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 5-Saturday, Dec. 7 at campus sites. The regional rounds of the tournament are set for Dec. 12-15 at national seed host sites. The National Semifinals and National Championship will be held at the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville, Ky., with the semifinals slated for Thursday, Dec. 19, and the championship set for Sunday, Dec. 22, at 3 pm.
Each match of the 2024 NCAA Volleyball Championship will be streamed on the ESPN family of networks, with the National Championship set to air on ABC.
