MAC Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
Izzi Boyd, Ohio, Midfielder, Gibsonia, Pa. (Pine-Richland)
Izzi Boyd has been on fire to start the season for the Bobcats. While she notched a goal in the season opener, her second week of play has been even more impressive. Against Cleveland State, Boyd scored the game-winning goal. She gathered the ball on the top of the box, took a touch right, and placed the ball perfectly into the upper corner. In total, the senior had the goal, three shots, and one shot on target. Boyd's 79th minute winner propelled Ohio to a 2-0-0 start.
Against Navy, Boyd was influential in creating offensive opportunities. In the 11th-minute, Boyd gathered the ball, turned, and found Scout Murray making a run. Boyd's pass led Murray through on goal where she wrapped a left-footed shot just inside the post. The pass was Boyd's first assist on the year and helped the Bobcats earn a draw on the road against Navy.

On Sunday, the graduate student posted her first clean sheet of the year after making three saves on the road at Cleveland State as the Flashes won 2-0. Melén now leads all MAC goalkeepers with 19 saves after the second weekend of the season.
