MAC Announces Final Women’s Soccer Player of the Week Winners

Offensive Player of the Week
Izzi Boyd, Ohio, Midfield
Senior, Gibsonia, Pa. (Pine-Richland)

Izzi Boyd made her last game in Athens one to remember. As the Bobcats were clawing for a playoff spot, Boyd delivered offensively. Her first goal came in the 43rd minute to put Ohio ahead entering the break. The senior perfectly positioned herself for a cross from the left wing and found the back of the net with a one-touch finish. Boyd kept the pressure on the Zip defense and broke through again in the 76th minute. Fellow senior Carsyn Prigge found Boyd running through on goal and delivered a perfect through ball. Boyd collected and slipped the ball past the Akron keeper to give the Bobcats a two-goal advantage. Boyd's two goals helped the Bobcats defeat Akron and earn the sixth and final playoff spot.

Defensive Player of the Week
Bethany Moser, Ball State, Goalkeeper
Junior, Mason, Ohio (William Mason)

Ball State redshirt junior goalkeeper Bethany Moser closed the 2023 regular season with her second complete match, and third overall, shutout of the year by stopping all six shots on goal she faced in Thursday’s 2-0 victory over Central Michigan. In helping the Cardinals secure the No. 3 seed and a quarterfinal home match in the 2023 MAC Women’s Soccer Championship, Moser raised her season save total to 107 which is a Ball State single-season record.
