MAC Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
Abby Townsend, Ohio, Forward               
Graduate Student, Powell, OH  
Abby Townsend has continued to dominate the field offensively and this past week was no different. Townsend led the Bobcats with 1 goal, 1 assist, 5 shots and 4 shots on goal against their non-conference opponent, Western Carolina. Abby made game changing offensive plays for the Bobcats once again with consistent pressure, strong passes, and her top shelf header goal off a rebound.
 
MAC Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
Deighton Wamer, NIU , Goalkeeper       
Freshman, Oregon, Ohio (Clay) 
Deighton Wamer played 135 minutes without conceding a goal this past week for NIU, playing 45 minutes against Wisconsin (Sept. 12) before picking up her second shutout of the season against Chicago State (Sept. 18). Wamer made three saves against Wisconsin, playing the first half against the Badgers. She then made two stops in a 2-0 victory at Chicago State in the final non-conference match for the Huskies.
