LAS VEGAS, Nev. -- Western Michigan wide receiver Skyy Moore, Central Michigan offensive tackle Luke Goedeke and teammate Bernhard Raimann were selected on night two of the 2022 NFL Draft on Friday. Moore was taken in the 2nd round with the 54th overall selection by the Kansas City Chiefs, while Goedeke was taken with the 57th pick by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Raimann rounded out the day two selections after being selected by the Indianapolis Colts in the 3rd round with the 77th overall pick.
Moore becomes the 43rd player in program history to be taken and the sixth under head coach Tim Lester. The New Kensington, Pa., native is the first WMU player to be selected by the Chiefs. He is the sixth wide receiver in program history to be taken in the draft, the fourth in the first two rounds, and is the third highest behind Greg Jennings (52nd overall, 2006) and Corey Davis (5th overall). Moore wrapped up his sophomore season with a career-high 95 receptions and 1,292 yards with 10 touchdowns. He was a First Team All-MAC selection in 2022 and in 2019. Moore was also an Academic All-MAC honoree in 2022.
Goedeke and Raimann are the latest in a long line of Chippewa offensive linemen who have been drafted. Among that group are Eric Fisher and Joe Staley. Fisher went to the Chiefs as the No. 1 overall pick in 2013; Staley went to the San Francisco 49ers in the first round in 2007.
Goedeke is a 6-foot-5, 310-pounder from Whitelaw, Wis. He started all 14 games for CMU in 2019, missed the 2020 season due to injury, and last season started all 13 games. In 2021, Goedeke was named All-Mid-American Conference, All-America honorable mention by Pro Football Focus, Second Team All-MAC by Phil Steele, and played in the Reese's Senior Bowl. He is a two-time Academic All-MAC honoree and was recently named to the National Football Foundation Hampshire Society.
Raimann, who is listed at 6-7, 305, is a native of Steinbrunn, Austria and came to the United States as a foreign exchange student. He played his high school football at Delton Kellogg, which is located south of Grand Rapids. Raimann was named All-America and the MAC Offensive Player of the Year by Pro Football Focus, earned Second Team All-America honors from the Sporting News, was named All-America honorable mention and First Team All-MAC by Phil Steele, was a First Team All-MAC selection, was named to the Senior Bowl All-America team, was a Hampshire Society honoree, a three-time Academic All-MAC selection, a MAC Medal of Excellence winner and a semifinalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy.
