BUFFALO, NY – The Mid-American Conference champion University at Buffalo women's basketball team will head to one of the meccas of women's basketball for the first round of the NCAA Tournament as UB will travel to Knoxville to take on the University of Tennessee on Saturday, Mar. 19 at 3:00pm ET on ABC.

The Bulls earned the #13 seed in the Wichita region, while the host Tennessee was announced as a #4 seed.  Also traveling to Knoxville will be #5 Oregon and #12 Belmont.

This is the fourth time in the last six years that the Bulls have been in the NCAA Tournament, winning games in each of their last two appearances. The Bulls are 25-8 on the year, having won nine straight and 14 of their last 15 games following their 79-75 victory in the MAC Championship game on Saturday.

Tennessee is 23-8 on the season and went 11-5 in the SEC this year. The Volunteers lost to eventual SEC Champion Kentucky in the semifinals of the SEC Tournament, 83-74.

This is the first all-time meeting between Buffalo and Tennessee and the second time that the Bulls will face an SEC opponent in the NCAA Tournament as the Bulls played South Carolina in the Sweet Sixteen in 2018.
