Malique Jacobs, Kent State, Guard
R-Senior, Wilmington, N.C. (Indian Hills)
Redshirt Senior Malique Jacobs recorded a single-game steal record for Kent State with 10 on Nov. 19 against Chicago State. Jacobs' 10 steals surpassed Chris Singletary's who record eight steals in 2008. Jacobs now leads all players in the NCAA. This is no surprise for Jacobs, as he returns to the 2022-23 season after being nominated as ALL-MAC Defensive player. The Flashes swept their three-game home stand this week where Jacobs contributed on both defense and offense. Jacobs recorded double-digits in every game this week including a game-high 21 points on Monday, Nov. 14 against Portland. Despite the fouls that took place throughout the week, Jacobs was able to help his team on the free throw line making a difference in every single game. Jacobs shot nearly perfect from the free throw line, shooting 83 percent.
