Miami Selected to Win Fifth Consecutive MAC Field Hockey Championship

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Mid-American Conference field hockey coaches have selected the Miami RedHawks to capture their fifth consecutive MAC Championship in the 2021 fall season. 

Miami University, who received five first place votes to win the regular season and tournament title, will look to continue to build on four straight MAC Championships in 2017, 2018, 2019 the 2021 spring. Miami posted a 13-2 overall record last year, while going a perfect 10-0 in conference play.
 
Kent State was chosen to finish second in the poll and received a total of 55 points from the coaches with one vote to win the regular season. The Golden Flashes finished last year 11-3 and 9-3 in MAC play, finishing the campaign on a six game win streak. 
 
Longwood University finished third in the preseason poll after finishing last season 8-5 overall, and 6-5 in conference play with the shortened season. Ball State and App State finished at the four and five spots in the poll with Ohio, Central Michigan, and new MAC affiliate Bellarmine rounding out the teams.
