MAC Announces Men's Soccer All-MAC & Specialty Award Winners

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Mid-American Conference announced its 2021 Men's Soccer All-MAC teams, its Player of the Year, Freshman of the Year, and the Gary V. Palmisano Coach of the Year on Wednesday, as voted by the league's head coaches.

Northern Illinois’ Ryan Swan was named Gary V. Palmisano Coach of the Year, while his own player, Nick Markanich, repeated as the MAC Player of the Year. Bowling Green’s Alberto Anaya took home Freshman of the Year honors.

In addition, the All-MAC First Team & Second Team was announced.

The MAC Men's Soccer Championship semifinals will take place on Thursday, November 11th as No. 2 West Virginia takes on No. 3 Georgia State at 3 pm CT | 4 pm ET, while No. 1 Northern Illinois will face off against No. 4 Bowling Green at 6 pm CT | 7 pm ET. The winner will take home the MAC title and will earn a spot in the upcoming NCAA Men's Soccer Tournament.
