Heim anchored SIUE in a 0-0 tie on the road at No. 7 Michigan State. The Spartans peppered SIUE's defense with 16 shots, including eight on goal. Heim turned away each of them. His biggest stop came with 2:05 to play in the second overtime period, when he denied Farai Mutatu's penalty kick to keep the game scoreless.

Bowling Green junior Chris Sullivan was a key contributor as the Falcons went 1-0-1 on a season-opening trip to Western Pennsylvania on the season's opening weekend. Sullivan played 104 minutes of the double-overtime contest at Duquesne, scoring the Falcons' goal in that 1-1 draw. He tied for match honors with five shots and two shots on goal vs. the Dukes. Then, the junior played all 90 minutes of BG's 2-0 win over Robert Morris. He had two shot attempts, putting both on goal, in that win. In his BG career, Sullivan now has 14 points, including five goals.

WVU's Ethan Shim earned his first career game-winning goal in a 1-0 win over Monmouth on Aug. 30. Shim scored in the 51st minute to help the Mountaineers to the season-opening road win.
