Perry and Brown Honored as WBB Players of the Week

EAST DIVISION PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Angela Perry, Bowling Green

Bowling Green junior center Angela Perry scored 25 points, shooting nearly 85 percent from the field, in the Falcons’ 82-69 win at Marshall. Perry made 11 of her 13 shots from the floor en route to her game-high scoring total. She made her only three-point attempt, and also had eight rebounds, four assists and a pair of blocked shots in the win over the Thundering Herd. Perry has scored 61 points over her last two games. She is averaging a team-high 15.6 points per game, and she currently leads the MAC and ranks third in the entire nation in field-goal percentage (.726; 53-of-73).

WEST DIVISION PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Oshlynn Brown, Ball State

Ball State battled its way back into the ball game Saturday against Western Kentucky with a lot of help from junior Oshlynn Brown. Brown came through with the tying shot with 18.9 seconds on the clock to send the contest into overtime. Brown notched seasons highs in points (22) and rebounds (14) against the Lady Toppers for her fourth double-double of the season and 21st double double of her career. After this weekend's performance, Brown now has over 600 rebounds for her career (608).

Junior Forward Jordyn Dawson paced the offensive attack for the Zips this past week against Duquesne and Butler. On the week, Dawson scored 14.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.0 steals, and 3.0 assists per game. Against Butler, Dawson tied a career-high 18 points, grabbed a team-high eight rebounds, shot 6-for-12 from the floor, knocked down a pair of three-pointers, ripped four steals, and dished out two assists. In the third quarter alone, Dawson scored 10 of the Zips 13 points and the first five points for either side.

Dyaisha Fair, Buffalo

Dyaisha Fair helped lead the Bulls to a 10 point win over Big 4 rival St. Bonaventure on Saturday afternoon to complete the Big 4 sweep for the second straight year. The freshman led all scorers with 17 points, 15 of those coming in the second half, to go with six rebounds and three steals. The Rochester, NY native is currently second in the nation in scoring at 24.3 points per game. She also ranks second in three point field goals attempted (91) and third in three point field goals made (32) and final points (211). 

Gabi Bird, Central Michigan  
Forward, Senior, South Lyon, Mich. (South Lyon East)        
 
Central Michigan senior forward Gabi Bird put on a show this past week as the Chippewas ran their win streak to four in a row with a dominate 70-50 victory over Iona inside McGuirk Arena. The South Lyon, Mich., native came off the bench and paced the offense with a career-high 21 points shooting 7-of-11 from the field which included a 5-of-8 mark from behind the arc. She also chipped in defensively grabbing six rebounds to go along with a block in the win.  

Courtney Woods, NIU            
Forward, RS-Senior, Brisbane, Australia (St. Margaret's)
 
 Woods led NIU in scoring for the sixth time in eight games on Dec. 5 with 19 points at Milwaukee. The redshirt-senior had 10 points in the first half as the Huskies built a 34-28 lead. Woods finished the 8-for-13 from the field and added six rebounds and four assists. It was the sixth consecutive game that Woods led NIU in assists. 

Cece Hooks, Ohio
Guard, Junior, Dayton, Ohio (Thurgood Marshall)
 
Junior guard Cece Hooks (Dayton, Ohio) led the way with her first double-double of the season after posting 25 points and 10 rebounds in Ohio’s 70-64 win over IUPUI. Hooks was 7-of-13 from the field and knocked down the two three-pointers she shot. Hooks added six assists, three steals and two blocks in 38 minutes on the floor. She got to the line 13 times and made nine free throws.
 
Nakiah Black, Toledo  
Guard, Junior, Concord, N.C.
 
Junior Nakiah Black averaged a team-high 14.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 0.5 assists and 1.0 steals in two games last week. Black shot 45.5 percent (10-of-22) from the field, including a squad-best 55.6 percent (5-of-9) from three-point land, and 80.0 percent (4-of-5) from the charity stripe in 34.0 minutes. The two-time team captain opened the week with nine points and three boards in 31 minutes vs. Belmont on Tuesday. Black knocked down back-to-back triples in the waning moments of overtime to give Toledo a lead it would not relinquish. Four days later against Duquesne, Black poured in a season-high 20 points, to go along with a squad-best seven caroms and two thefts in a season-best 37 minutes. She has now scored in double figures a team-high four times this year and made at least two treys in three of the last four games.  
 
Breanna Mobley, Western Michigan
Forward, Redshirt Senior, Lansing, Mich. (Waverly)           
 
Breanna Mobley tallied her fifth double-double of the season on Sunday against UIC, the 35th of her career, on the way to an 80-52 win for the Broncos. Mobley dominated with a team-high eight offensive rebounds in WMU's fourth win of the season. The Lansing, Mich. native posted a team-high 16 points off 8-for-12 shooting.
