MAC Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week

Alice Roeper led the Dukes' offense this past weekend with three goals for six points. Roeper recorded her third game-winning goal of the season, converting on two penalty strokes in a 3-0 shutout versus Kent State on Oct. 11. On Sunday, the junior scored the game’s opening goal at Old Dominion to extend her point streak to six games. Her 10 goals and 23 points (10g, 3a) this season pace the Mid-American Conference. Additionally, Roeper is tied for 12th in the nation in points per game (2.09) and tied for 15th in goals per game (0.91).

Molly Schreiner recorded her second solo shutout of the season as the Dukes moved to 9-3 (4-0 MAC). The redshirt freshman made three saves and faced 11 penalty corners in a 3-0 shutout versus Kent State on Oct. 11. On Sunday, Schreiner registered five stops in 39:27 of action at Old Dominion. Her 1.60 GAA is good for second in the Mid-American Conference, and she is one of three MAC goalkeepers to earn multiple solo shutouts this season. Additionally, Schreiner is tied for 14th in the nation in win-loss percentage at .750.
