CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference is well represented across NFL rosters as clubs have ended the preseason and turned their attention to the regular season, with 70 former MAC student-athletes earning spots on teams’ initial rosters.
The New England Patriots lead the league with five MAC representatives, while 18 other franchises have multiple players from MAC institutions.
The most represented school on the initial rosters is Toledo, which has 12 former student-athletes in the league. Central Michigan and Western Michigan have 10 representatives each, while Buffalo (nine) is also well represented across the NFL.
The 2026 season will kick off on Wednesday, Sept. 9, as Reggie Gilliam (Toledo), Robert Spillane (Western Michigan) and Andrew Wylie (Eastern Michigan) and the New England Patriots visit 2026 draftee Avery Smith and the Seattle Seahawks at Lumen Field on NBC at 8:20 p.m. ET.
