CLEVELAND, Ohio – The 12-time Mid-American Conference Women’s Swimming & Diving Champion Akron was predicted to continue its title run as a result of the 2026-27 Women’s Swimming & Diving Preseason Coaches’ Poll. The league’s nine head coaches voted ahead of the start of the season this weekend and were not allowed to vote for their own team.
Akron collected 64 team points with 8 first-place selections, followed closely behind by Ohio with 57 points and the final first-place tally. The Zips and Bobcats finished 1-2, respectively, at the 2026 MAC Championships and had a collective five student-athletes punch their ticket to the 2026 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships in Atlanta, Ga.
The Zips are coming off their fifth consecutive title, winning 12 of the last 13 championships under head coach Brian Peresie.
Miami was predicted No. 3 (50 points), followed by Ball State in the No.4 position (42 pts.) and Buffalo (36 pts.) rounding out the top 5.
The 2027 Mid-American Conference Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships will be hosted by Bowling Green on Feb. 24-27, 2027, at Cooper Pool in Bowling Green, Ohio.
