MAC Football Offensive Player of the Week
John Alan Richter, Toledo, QB
Junior, Gray, Georgia                
Richter delivered a remarkable performance in Toledo’s improbable 49-48 overtime comeback victory over Temple, completing 36 of 51 passes for 429 yards and four touchdowns. It was just the fourth time in program history that a Toledo quarterback has thrown for at least 425 yards and four touchdowns in a game.
 
The Rockets trailed by 14 points with just over one minute remaining, but Richter led Toledo to two touchdowns in an 11-second span, with a perfectly executed onside kick in between, to send the game to overtime. Toledo then secured the victory by stopping Temple’s two-point conversion attempt in overtime.
 
Richter was at his best when the game was on the line. Following the onside kick, he engineered a two-play, 49-yard touchdown drive to tie the game, completing passes of 26 and 23 yards to put the Rockets in the end zone.
 
It was an extraordinary performance in one of the most dramatic comebacks in Toledo football history, and Richter was at the center of it from start to finish.
 
MAC Football Defensive Player of the Week
William DePaepe, UMass, DL
Junior, Bettendorf, Iowa (Moline)  
DePaepe led a UMass defense that shutdown Stonehill all day en route to a 36-14 win as the Minutemen improved to 3-0 on the season. DePaepe tied for the team lead with four solo tackles, while notching two sacks for 27 yards lost and he added a forced fumble. DePaepe and the UMass defense held Stonehill to a just 27 yards rushing on 28 attempts and a 3-for-16 mark on third down.
 
MAC Football Special Teams Player of the Week
Derek Morris, UMass, K        
Junior  Dayton, Ohio (Bishop Fenwick)      
Morris made all three of his field goal attempts and was also 3-for-3 on PATs. He hit a 55-yard field goal to match his program record and set the mark for longest field goal in McGuirk Alumni stadium. He also had touchbacks on six of his eight kickoffs.
