Week 3 Volleyball Player of the Week Awards Announced

Offensive Player of the Week
Kayla Ozanich, Middle Blocker, Toledo

Kayla Ozanich led the Toledo offense in an undefeated weekend at the West Virginia Invitational. Ozanich totaled 37 kills in three matches, averaging 3.08 kills/set, with only two errors for a .522 clip. The Okemos, Mich. native had double-figure kills in all three matches, including tying her season high in kills with 13 on a career-best .684 hitting percentage in the 3-2 victory over West Virginia for Toledo's first win over a Power 4 school since 2022. Ozanich also led the team in blocks, totaling 11 throughout the weekend and averaging 0.92 blocks/set. The senior is averaging 2.64 kills/set and 0.68 blocks/set so far this season to go along with a .437 clip, a mark that ranks top-three in the league. 

Defensive Player of the Week
Sophie Ledbetter, Libero, Ball State

Junior libero Sophie Ledbetter turned in another solid weekend, earning tournament MVP honors at the Fairfield Inn & Suites Dunn Campbell Invitational after producing a 4.80 digs-per-set average, which led all MAC last week ... In Saturday’s win over Furman, she tied her season-high with 26 digs, while serving up a career-high, tying three aces ... She finished the tournament with four total aces, 11 assists, and a .929 (26-for-28) reception percentage. 

Setter Pair of the Week
Holland Van Deusen & Madison Brown, Miami

Freshman setter Holland Van Deusen and freshman setter Madison Brown combined for 99 assists, helping Miami to 126 kills over three wins at the ISTAP Collegiate Cup against Nicholls, Alabama State and South Carolina State. Van Deusen tallied 60 assists, 19 digs, three service aces and three kills. Brown added 39 assists, 18 digs, and four service aces. The two setters helped the Red and White win the tournament. The RedHawks did not lose a single set over the weekend.
