Holly Grober Named Assistant Commissioner for Sports Administration and Championships

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Mid-American Conference has announced that Holly Grober has been named Assistant Commissioner for Sports Administration and Championships, effective September 1, 2026.
 
In her new role, Grober will oversee the administration and execution of MAC championship events for men’s and women’s cross country, men’s and women’s indoor track and field, gymnastics, women’s golf, women’s lacrosse and men’s and women’s outdoor track and field. She will also oversee the Conference office’s awards program and assist with the planning and execution of the MAC Block Party and MAC Golf Outing.
 
Grober joined the MAC in 2023 as Director of Institutional Services and Programming before being promoted to Assistant Commissioner for Institutional Services and Programming in 2025.
 
Prior to joining the Conference, Grober spent two years as the Assistant Athletic Director of Operations at Walsh University. In that role, she managed athletic department operations, including event management, game operations, facility requests, external rentals and facility maintenance. She also served as co-advisor for the Walsh Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and spent five months as the university’s Co-Interim Athletic Director during the 2022-23 academic year.
 
Before returning to Walsh, Grober served as the Operations and Media Coordinator at the Great Midwest Athletic Conference in Indianapolis. She supported media relations for the conference’s 23 championship sports, along with its website and social media efforts. She also assisted with internal operations, including officiating payments and the coordination of league meetings and championship events, while serving as the conference liaison to the Great Midwest Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
 
A former Walsh women’s basketball student-athlete, Grober competed for the Cavaliers from 2014-18 and later served as a Sports Information Graduate Assistant from 2018-20. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing and Corporate Communications from Walsh in 2018 and an MBA in Marketing in 2020.
