Malina Miller has been named a U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic Athlete, as announced by the organization yesterday.

This award is aimed at highlighting success in the classroom and on the track, two things Miller has exceled at receiving this honor for the second straight year.

In order to be eligible for the award, athletes must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or higher on a 4.0-scale. Athletes must also have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Indoor or Outdoor Track and Field Championships or finished the season ranked in the top 48 in the East or West for the most recent indoor or outdoor season. They also must have completed at least two semesters or three quarters at the certifying institution.

Miller, who just finished her junior year, is majoring in landscape architecture. She also qualified for the NCAA East First Round in the high jump. She finished in 24th place with a height of 1.76 meters. 

Bowling Green / 3.65 GPA / Head Coach Rachel Rhynard
For the 20th straight season, Bowling Green was named an All-Academic Team by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). The Falcons' 3.65 cumulative grade point average tied for 27th among all Division I track and field programs.

That GPA kept BGSU as the Mid-American Conference's top academic program. The program's persistent presence among USTFCCCA All-Academic honorees reflects its commitment to both academic and athletic excellence.

In addition to the team's recognition, four athletes earned individual All-Academic honors: Kiera Bonds (Human Development and Family Science), Kylee Cubbison (Health Science), Rachael Hoover (Exercise Science) and Bianca Staples (Exercise Science). Each met USTFCCCA's academic and athletic criteria: maintaining a cumulative 3.25 GPA or higher and qualifying through NCAA competition or national rankings during the 2024 indoor or outdoor seasons.

Central Michigan / 3.67 GPA / Head Coach Jenny Swieton
Central Michigan University Track & Field earned All-Academic status from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Monday after posting a 3.67 GPA.

This is the seventh consecutive season that the program has earned the All-Academic team honor, and eighth of the last nine seasons under the leadership of Director of Track & Field/Cross Country Jenny Swieton.

The Eastern Michigan University track & field programs earned six total individual and two team United States Track and Field/Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic honors for the 2025-26 season, the organization announced July 20.   

A team must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 to make the cut as a group. Individuals were required to post at least a 3.25 cumulative GPA academically while athletic criteria varied between the indoor and outdoor seasons.

The Eastern women's team notched a 3.38 GPA and six Eagles earned the award individually.

For the indoor season: must have finished the season ranked in the top 96 in any championship individual event, or in the top 48 in any championship relay event, for the most recent indoor season, certifiable by their place on final season performance lists on TFRRS for Indoor Track and Field (including performances achieved outside the qualifying window during the indoor season).

For the outdoor season: must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships (the Preliminary Championship Competition and/or the Final Championship Competition) or for the multi-events, must have finished the season ranked in the top 48 in the East or top 48 in the West for the most recent outdoor season, certifiable by their place on the NCAA Division I.

On the women's side, Saraiah Walkes and Uduak Udosoh earned the honor.

Walkes recently graduated from the program with a 3.61 GPA, receiving her Master of Business Administration, and earned the award after qualifying for the NCAA East First Round in the 200m with a time of 23.30, along with qualifying as a member of the 4x400m relay team with an EMU school record time of 3:33.86.

Udosoh holds a 3.37 GPA in Business Management, and she qualified for the award after competing alongside Walkes in the 4x400m relay at the NCAA East First Round.

The Kent State men's and women's track and field teams, along with 12 individual student-athletes, received All-Academic honors for the 2026 season, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced on Monday.

To earn All-Academic Team distinction, a program must have at least a 3.00 cumulative team GPA.

Student-athletes must have completed at least two semesters at the nominating institution with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25 and finished the indoor season ranked in the top 96 in any championship individual event, finished the outdoor season ranked in the top 48 in the East or West certifiable by their place on final season performance lists on TFRRS.org, or participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

The Golden Flashes' 12 individual honorees are the most of any Mid-American Conference school. Svenia De Coninck earned the award for the third year in a row, while Matilde Carboncini, Keeli Dunaway and Shelby Grover were recognized for the second time. Amryne Chilton, Gabrielle Hammonds, Kristen Jay, and Alexa Nestor received their first USTFCCCA academic accolade.
