CLEVELAND – Mid-American Conference Commissioner Dr. Jon A. Steinbrecher has announced the addition of Scott Goldschmidt as its Assistant Commissioner for Football Operations, effective July 1, 2026.
 
Goldschmidt joins the MAC after spending the past 10 years with the University of Michigan football program, most recently serving as Senior Assistant Athletic Director for Football Operations.
 
In his most recent role, Goldschmidt managed the day-to-day operations of the Michigan football program, including daily scheduling, team travel, logistics, facility coordination and budget oversight.
 
In his new role with the MAC, Goldschmidt will oversee football operations for the Conference, including championship administration, football scheduling support, officiating coordination, conference events and initiatives, and serving as a liaison to member institutions and football coaches.
 
Prior to being named Senior Assistant Athletic Director, Goldschmidt served as Michigan’s Director for Football Operations from 2021-24. In that role, he coordinated operational logistics for three Big Ten Championship Game appearances and College Football Playoff berths.
 
Goldschmidt also held previous roles as Assistant Director for Football Operations and Football Operations Coordinator with the Wolverines. He began his career in athletics as a compliance intern with the University of Michigan Athletics Department.
 
Goldschmidt earned his Juris Doctor from Capital University Law School with a concentration in Contracts and Negotiations and a certificate in Dispute Resolution. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in Communication from the University of Cincinnati.
