INDIANAPOLIS — The Northern Illinois Huskies, the 2026 MAC Baseball Tournament champions, were selected for the Tallahassee Regional in the 2026 NCAA Baseball Tournament. The Huskies will open the national tournament on Friday, May 29, at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN+ against Coastal Carolina.

Joining the Huskies and Chanticleers in the Tallahassee Regional are No. 10 Florida State and St. John’s.

Northern Illinois posted a perfect week at ForeFront Field, capped off by a 5-1 win over the Toledo Rockets to claim the program’s first-ever MAC Baseball Tournament championship. NIU outscored its opponents 32-9 during the tournament and trailed only once. The Huskies’ pitching staff posted a 1.80 ERA and held opponents to a .193 batting average last week.
