YPSILANTI, Mich. – The Massachusetts women's lacrosse team scored the final seven goals of the game to turn a 7-4 lead into a runaway 14-4 win on Saturday afternoon at Eastern Michigan. With their eighth straight win, the Minutewomen improve to 12-2 on the season and 5-0 in the MAC. The Eagles fall to 3-2 in conference play.
Kassidy Morris and Dylan Lyons each had four goals and two assists to lead the offense, Morris' eighth straight game with at least six points. Lyons finished with a hat trick for a fifth straight game and eighth time this season.
Katie Onderdonk scored twice while Ava Connaughton dished two assists.
"Really playing as a team out there was when we had success," said head coach Jana Drummond. "We were playing together, playing as one and really focusing on the details. Defensively, we did a great job of adding pressure, getting caused turnovers and getting the ball into the offensive zone. We had a really connected offense. Proud of their effort."
Defensively, the Minutewomen caused 17 of the Eagles' 24 turnovers, with five different players recording multiple caused turnovers. Goalkeeper Bayley Duffy had three to go with six caused turnovers and six saves on the afternoon as she improved her top five save percentage in the country to 51.2.
Cate Marshall collected a game-high 10 draw controls. Lil Hancock filled up the stat sheet with a goal, assist, groundball, draw control and two caused turnovers.
After UMass went up 2-0, Eastern Michigan responded with three of the next five goals to pull within 4-3 midway through the second quarter. But the Minutewomen answered with three straight goals. Lyons scored her second to get it started, and Molly Bruner had a nifty second-chance goal with just seconds left on the clock for a 7-3 halftime lead.
Onderdonk and Lyons rounded out the scoring late in the fourth, for the 14-4 final.
Final shots were 34-24 UMass with the Minutewomen holding a 25-17 edge in groundballs and 12-7 edge in draw controls.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Central Michigan Lacrosse outlasted Youngstown State, 7-6, in Mid-American Conference play Saturday afternoon at Farmers National Bank Stadium.
Ava Regitz (Marietta, Ga. / Blessed Trinity) tied the program's single-game record for caused turnovers with six takeaways, five of which were tallied by halftime. Hailie Moore '23 had stood alone atop the record list since April 26, 2023.
Regitz's effort was the catalyst to a dominant defensive performance for the Chippewas as they held the Penguins scoreless for the first 25-plus minutes of action—the junior defender had logged her first four caused turnovers by the time the shutout was ended.
Leila Kahler (Spring Lake, Mich. / Spring Lake) stood tall in the cage for 10 saves, her fifth double-digit performance of the season, and a .625 save percentage—a career-high for a single game.
The strong defensive presence was complimented by a first-half hat trick from Anna Farrar (Milton, Ga. / Cambridge), her fourth hat trick of the season. Her third goal came in the final seconds of the first half for a 5-2 advantage at intermission—a score that proved pivotal.
Mia Bradley (Orchard Park, N.Y. / Orchard Park) and Elyse DeFrank (Frankfort, Ill. / Lincoln-Way East) each scored once to reach the five-goal total at the break. Bradley would finish the contest with three assists for four points; Kelsey Barratt (Voorhees, N.J. / Eastern) tallied a pair on the game's second and third goals.
Youngstown State scored the first three goals of the second half to level the contest, 5-5, and the dogfight was on.
Isabella Bainbridge (Grand Rapids, Mich. / Forest Hills Northern) regained the lead with under seven minutes to play in the third quarter, marking Bradley's third assist.
A full quarter went by before either team scored again: the Penguins knotted the contest, 6-6.
Julia Werner (Gurnee, Ill. / Warren Township) scored the winner with 90 seconds to play as she drove from behind the goalie's right shoulder nearly 270 degrees around the crease to score from point-blank range.

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – University of Akron junior Sienna Hinchcliffe (Rochester, N.Y.) continued her campaign towards garnering Mid-American Conference Player of the Year accolades registering a game-high six-goal and four-assist performance to propel the Zips to a 16-6 league triumph at Robert Morris on Saturday (April 11).
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Hinchcliffe contributed on 10 of Akron's 16 goals in the affair collecting six goals and four assists on the strength of equaling a career- and game-high in shots (12) for the third consecutive game, while netting 10 shots on goal.
• Seniors Katie Baumer (Rochester, N.Y.) and Kellen Fletcher (Valencia, Pa.) were equally impressive for the Zips netting three goals each.
• Senior Heather Carey (Williamsville, N.Y.) tallied a pair of goals, while sophomore Avery Wallace (Eden Prairie, Minn.) netted her first career goal at the 11:19 mark of the second quarter off an assist from junior Kaitlyn Sikorski (Plymouth, Minn.).
• Sikorski contributed three assists, while adding one assist apiece was Baumer, senior Dani Dahl (Fairfax, Va.) and Fletcher.
• Redshirt freshman goalkeeper Adrianna Califano (Bellmore, N.Y.) recorded three saves in the match for Akron.
• Baumer and Hinchcliffe paced the Zips with a game-high three ground balls each, while Baumer corralled a team-best six draw controls.
• Senior Sarah Baumer (Rochester, N.Y.) tallied a game-high three caused turnovers.
