WMU’s Spillane Eyes Lombardi Sunday at Super Bowl LX

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Robert Spillane is set to represent Western Michigan University and the Mid-American Conference on football’s biggest stage as the New England Patriots face the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl LX on Sunday, Feb. 8.

The seven-year NFL veteran, going from an undrafted free agent to key defensive contributor in New England. At Western Michigan, Spillane was a two-time second-team All-MAC selection before entering the NFL in 2018 with the Tennessee Titans.

Since joining the Patriots in 2025 on a multi-year deal, Spillane has been a stabilizing force at linebacker. After stops with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Las Vegas Raiders — where he was a consistent tackler and situational defender — Spillane led the Patriots in tackles during the 2025 regular season with 97 stops.

Additionally, Maxen Hook (Toledo) is on Seattle’s practice squad, while Thomas Odukoya (Eastern Michigan) and Brock Lampe (Northern Illinois) are currently members of the Patriots practice squad.

Kickoff is slated for 6:30 p.m. ET from Levi’s Stadium. The game will be broadcast on NBC.
