Griffin, Anderson Earn Week 15 Wrestling Honors

East Division Wrestler of the Week
Elijah Griffin, 141 lbs., Rider
In Rider’s dual against Lock Haven, the 141-pound bout featured a Top 25 showdown, as No. 14/20 Elijah Griffin squared off with familiar foe No. 24/30 Wyatt Henson in a rematch of the season-opening Princeton Open semifinals. This time, Griffin left no doubt. After a narrow 4-3 win earlier in the year, Griffin controlled the action with a takedown in each period, capped by a last-second go-behind on the edge of the mat, to earn a commanding 12-2 major decision and push Rider’s lead to 15-0. The victory marked Griffin’s sixth win over a ranked opponent this season, improving him to a team-best 21-5 overall.

West Division Wrestler of the Week
Archer Anderson, 125 lbs., Central Michigan
Central Michigan freshman Archer Anderson posted a dramatic pin at 4:09 of SIUE's Drew Davis, sparking the Chippewas to a 21-14 MAC dual-meet victory in Edwardsville, Ill. Archer trailed Davis, who finished third a year ago in the MAC Championships at 125 pounds, 13-3 when he reversed the Cougar, worked into a headlock, and recorded the pin, the first of his career. Anderson's pin staked the Chippewas to a 6-0 lead, and it led to SIUE's first MAC dual-meet loss of the season and ended its dual-meet win streak at five.
