MAC Announces Week 5 Football Players of the Week

MAC Football Offensive Player of the Week
CJ Miller, Toledo, RB
Junior, Gadsden, Ala.              
CJ Miller had a breakout performance on Saturday, rushing for a career-high 196 yards on 20 carries, averaging nearly 10 yards per carry. He had runs of 68 and 50 yards. The 68-yarder was a fourth-quarter TD that clinched a road win over Ball State for the Rockets.


 
MAC Football Defensive Player of the Week
Eriq George, Bowling Green, Defensive Line        
Senior, Nashville, Ten. (Montgomery Bell Academy)      
Eriq George anchored the Bowling Green defense in the win over Miami. George recorded a career-high eight tackles for the Falcons, including five solo, while adding a career-high three sacks to lead the team as well. George's third sack came on the final play of the game, sealing the win for the Falcons. His three tackles for loss also logged a new career-high.


 
MAC Football Special Teams Player of the Week
Kellan McLaughlin, Miami, Placekicker

Kellan McLaughlin was a perfect 4-of-4 on field goals last Saturday versus Bowling Green. The junior knocked in kicks from 24, 41, 40 and 28 yards and added an extra point. He also recorded four touchbacks on five kickoffs, allowing just 17 return yards all afternoon.
