Ball State Cardinals
The Ball State women's swimming & diving team opens Mid-American Conference action as the squad welcomes Miami (OH) to Lewellen Aquatic Center on Oct. 30. Competition is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. ET.

Several Cardinals turned in standout performances as Ball State opened the 2026-27 campaign on Oct. 22 with a victory at IU Indy (235-132) before placing second with 507 points at the Indiana Intercollegiate two days later. Anna Keen led the Cardinals with three individual event wins over the two meets, while also contributing to a pair of relay victories. Naomi Haines, Haley Johnson and Eryn McMahon earned their first collegiate individual victories, with Haines claiming the 100 butterfly (55.19), Johnson winning the 200 butterfly (2:04.54) and McMahon placing atop the 1-meter board (258.23) against the Jaguars. Four other Cardinals added individual victories at IU Indy, helping Ball State secure the season-opening win.

Addy Czarnecki's winning time in the 1000 freestyle (10:03.39) and Milagros Amione's event-topping time in the 400 IM (4:21.90) currently lead the conference in their respective events.

Ball State also received strong performances on the diving boards last week, as Leelah Fettig captured the 3-meter title at IU Indy (249.23), along with McMahon's win on 1M. Fettig and McMahon continued their strong starts at the Indiana Intercollegiate, with Fettig placing third on 3-meter (269.45) and McMahon finishing fourth on 1-meter (244.90).

Ball State and Miami (OH) have met in 18 dual meets dating back to 2002, with the RedHawks holding a 17-1 advantage in the series. The Cardinals' lone victory came on Feb. 9, 2008, when Ball State earned a 176-124 win in Muncie. The two programs most recently met on Oct. 18, 2024, in Oxford, with the RedHawks earning a 164-134 victory.

Buffalo Buls
The University at Buffalo swimming and diving program is continuing its season this Friday and Saturday at Eastern Michigan University, competing against the Eagles in the Jones Natatorium. The meet begins Friday at 5 p.m. and resumes Saturday at 11 a.m.

The Bulls enter their second meet of the season after beating the Niagara Purple Eagles, 216-78. The program improved to 38-7 all-time against Niagara with the victory.

The Bulls were led by Adele Melamud in the diving well, who won both the one and three-meter competitions. Melamud posted personal best performances on both boards, rising to fifth in UB history in the three-meter (338.70) and taking 10th in the one-meter (281.10). Both scores also qualified Melamud for the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships in the spring and earned the sophomore her third MAC Diver of the Week award in her career. Maggie Meyers placed second in the three-meter (267.70), as Sophie Meuwissen (2nd, 257.33) and Tristan Krajcarski (3rd, 238.65) finished top three of the one-meter.

In the pool, Pinar Donmez helped the Bulls to three event wins. The sophomore took first place in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:04.58) and 100-yard individual medley (59.01), also helping the program to win the 200-yard medley relay (1:44.56). Kamilla Nemes added a win in the 400-yard individual medley (4:27.04), also placing second in the 100-yard individual medley (59.07) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:06.03).
