Eastern Michigan junior Fernanda Ovalle averaged a MAC-best 26.0 points per game this week to go with 10.0 rebounds per game, as she led the Eagles to an 86-76 win over Bowling Green, Dec. 30, snapping the Falcons’ seven-game win streak. Ovalle posted a career-best 26 points, the third-most in a single game in the conference last week, with 10 rebounds, two assists, two blocks, and one steal against BGSU. Her 2.00 blocks per game ranked second in the MAC as her 10.0 rebounds per game slotted third. She was efficient offensively against the Falcons, shooting 47.1% (8-for-17) from the field and 88.9% (8-for-9) from the free-throw line, the fifth-best mark in the conference. The contest saw the Eagles set program records in both free throws made (37) and attempted (48), numbers that both stand first in the MAC and second nationally in a single game.
