Offensive Player of the Week
Avery Hobson, Outside Hitter, Bowling Green
Avery Hobson led a strong BGSU attack at the Loyola Invite, with BGSU going 2-1. Hobson's best match came against SFA, landing a career-high 24 kills while maintaining a .404 hitting percentage in the process. She followed it up with 18 kills in the win over Loyola Chicago. Hobson added eight digs in each match as well, coming close to two more double-doubles.
Defensive Player of the Week
Gentry Warrick, Middle Blocker, Miami
Senior middle blocker Gentry Warrick set the tone for the Red and White defensively at the Miami/Best Western Invitational, as she recorded 17 blocks (1.42/set) to help lead the RedHawks to a tournament championship. Aside from her blocking efforts, Warrick also contributed 16 kills (1.33/set) and five digs (0.42/set). In Miami’s two wins against Middle Tennessee and Duquesne, she posted 15 blocks (1.67/set), three of which were solo blocks. Warrick continues to lead the MAC in total blocks (58) and blocks per set (1.61) after this weekend’s play.
Setter of the Week
Amanda Otten, Bowling Green
Amanda Otten set the BGSU attack to a 2-1 record at the Loyola Invite. Otten began the week with a double-double against Indiana, logging 28 assists and 10 digs in three sets. She followed it up with a near double-double against SFA, registering 44 assists and nine digs in addition to six kills. Otten's best match arguably came against Loyola Chicago, recording a season-high 52 assists while setting the Falcons to a season-best. 312 hitting percentage. Otten contributed a season-high seven kills while also adding five digs.
