GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The Kent State volleyball team rallied for a 3-2 victory (18-25, 25-17, 20-25, 25-20, 15-12) over UTSA on Thursday afternoon in a neutral-site match played at the University of North Dakota.

The Golden Flashes (3-4) made the necessary defensive adjustments after falling behind 2-1 and totaled eight blocks while holding the Roadrunners to a .063 hitting percentage over the final two sets.

UTSA was the first to 15 in the fourth set, but Kent State closed with an 11-5 run to force a fifth set. Sophomore Nadia Miller got the comeback effort started with a kill and added an ace after a UTSA attack error for a 17-15 lead. Miller added two more kills for the Flashes' final two points in the set.

Miller put Kent State ahead for good in the fifth, 6-5, with another kill. Redshirt sophomore Adalynn Ginley followed with a kill, and the lead was trimmed to one three times, but the Flashes had an answer each time. Freshman Macie Moreland posted four of her career-high 12 kills during the set.

Senior Mackenzie McGuire and junior Christina Vigil both recorded double-doubles. McGuire led all players with 17 kills and added 11 digs, while Vigil totaled 45 assists and a team-high 17 digs. Sophomore Lesley Furuta and freshman Catie Patterson tallied 13 digs each.
