INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Fresh off winning the MAC Championship, the men's golf team learned where they will begin postseason play during the NCAA selection show on Wednesday afternoon. The Golden Flashes were selected for the Amherst, Virginia Regional, where they will compete at Poplar Grove Golf Club from May 12 to 14 for a spot in the NCAA Championship.

The Flashes earn their spot after clinching a 16-stroke victory at this week's MAC Championship, posting a 54-hole team score of 10-under-par to secure the program's 29th MAC title. It marked Kent State's second win of the season, after the Flashes claimed the top spot at the Flyer Invitational in October. The team has recorded six top-five and four top-three finishes in the 2024-25 season.

The team also learned at the conclusion of the MAC Championship on Tuesday that star senior Jordan Gilkison was named MAC Golfer of the Year, Isaiah Ibit earned MAC Freshman of the Year, and head coach Jon Mills was selected as the MAC Coach of the Year.

To advance to the NCAA Championship from the regional stage, the Flashes must be among the top five teams at the Amherst Regional after 54 holes. Additionally, if the team does not qualify, the top individual finisher not on a qualifying team will earn a spot in the NCAA Championship.
