CLEVELAND, Ohio – The 2025 NCAA Regional Gymnastics Meets included a total of 11 student-athletes from six different Mid-American Conference rosters competing as individuals.
Utah Regional (University of Utah, host)
All-Around – Raisa Boris, Eastern Michigan
Floor Exercise – Abby Brushwood, Eastern Michigan
Eastern Michigan’s Raisa Boris posted a 39.025 all-around, highlighted by her 9.800 bars routine. The senior closed her career with her ninth all-around showing of at least 39.000 this season. Boris tallied at least 9.700 in all four events for the sixth time in 2025.
Fellow Eagle Abby Brushwood scored 9.850 on floor in her first career NCAA Regionals performance. The sophomore posted at least 9.800 in the event in every meet this season, outside of the first competition, Jan. 12. Her 9.850 is EMU's top floor score in an NCAA Regionals meet since Jada Rondeau's 9.900 in 2021.
Boris, who qualified in 2024, was the first Eagle to qualify for NCAA Regionals in all-around in back-to-back seasons since Emili Dobronics did so in 2018 and 2019 while Brushwood is the first Eagle to advance to the postseason on floor since Rondeau in 2021.
Pennsylvania Regional (Pennsylvania State University, host)
Vault – Charlie Behner, Kent State
Balance Beam – Heidi Schultz, Kent State
Floor Exercise – Alyssa Guns, Kent State
A trio of Flashes took center stage on Thursday night as Charlie Behner, Heidi Schultz, and Alyssa Guns participated in NCAA Regionals. In the meet hosted by Penn State, Behner competed on vault, Schultz on beam, and Guns on the floor.
The first Kent State gymnast of the night to perform was Behner. The 2025 Second-Team All-MAC selection earned a 9.750 on vault to wrap up a successful junior season. She led the Flashes with a 9.835 NQS on vault this season, while also posting season highs of 9.900 on bars and 9.875 on the floor.
Schultz posted Kent State's best score of the night on beam, earning a 9.800 to finish tied for 15th in the event. Another Second-Team All-MAC selection, Schultz concludes her junior season with a MAC-leading 9.850 NQS on beam, posting a career-high 9.925 in the event against Ball State on March 9. Schultz also made 11 appearances on bars this season for the Flashes, posting a season-high 9.850 in the event on two separate occasions.
Guns wrapped up an illustrious four-year collegiate career with the final routine of the night on the floor, recording a 9.725. In her senior season, which culminated in a fourth consecutive individual NCAA Regional appearance, Guns earned First-Team All-MAC honors after posting a MAC-best 9.900 NQS on the floor and earning a 9.900 or better on six occasions. Guns also competed in all 12 meets on beam for Kent State this season, posting a season-high 9.875 against Western Michigan on February 2.
The trio's finishes at the University Park Regional mark the end of the 2025 gymnastics season for Kent State. The campaign saw the team earn the 11th MAC Regular Season Championship in program history as head coach Brice Biggin was named conference coach of the year for the 12th time in his career.
Alabama Regional (University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, host)
All-Around – Luciana Alvarado-Reid, Central Michigan
Vault – Halle Faulkner, Western Michigan

Uneven Bars – Reese Samuelson, Western Michigan
Uneven Bars – Ashley Szymanski, Ball State
Floor Exercise – Cassie St. Clair, Western Michigan
Ball State sophomore Ashley Szymanski closed her 2025 campaign with a strong showing Friday afternoon at the NCAA Alabama Regional, scoring a 9.775 in her bars routine at Coleman Coliseum.
In her second individual NCAA Regional appearance, Szymanski placed 17th among the 27 bars competitors in the first session of the second round. Her score was also the best among the three individual competitors in the session.
Central Michigan junior Luciana Alvarado-Reid competed as an all-arounder in session II of the Tuscaloosa Regional second round on Friday with a score of 39.150, which placed her 4th in a competitive rotation of five all-arounders.
Alvarado-Reid, who hails from Cartago, Costa Rica, has now competed in two NCAA Regionals; one as an uneven bars specialist, and now as an all-arounder. She rotated with Clemson in the meet with Oregon State, NC State and Florida, alongside two individual competitors from Rutgers.
The junior scored 9.850 on the floor exercise to finish tied for 12th, 9.800 on the uneven bars and balance for a 13th and 23rd place finish, respectively, and 9.700 on vault which tied her for 20th on the event.
O'Shea, a junior from Norridge, Ill. scored a 9.575 vault on her vault to close out her junior season with the Huskies.
The performance marked the second at the NCAA Regionals for O'Shea after she qualified for the Arkansas Regional on vault in 2024. It also marked the 11th straight season that the Huskies have earned a qualifier to NCAA Regionals dating back to 2014.
The Western Michigan gymnastics season came to an end after Halle Faulkner, Cassie St. Clair and Reese Samuelson competed at the NCAA Regional Championships at the University of Alabama on Friday afternoon.
St. Clair started things off on floor in the opening rotation of the meet. St. Clair was in rotation with Cal and competed after the Bears finished their performance. In her final performance, she scored a 9.850.
Samuelson then competed in the second rotation on bars and was slotted with Alabama. The sophomore finished with a score of 9.600 in her first career NCAA Regional performance.
Faulkner was the last to go, competing on vault in the final rotation with North Carolina. In her final performance as a Bronco, Faulkner earned a score of 9.800 to finish in the top 10.
