Akron redshirt senior Noelle Boyd turned in a strong week for the Zips registering 5 goals, 2 assists, 8 shots on goal, 8 draw controls and a pair of caused turnovers. She helped the Zips open Mid-American Conference play with a come-from-behind 14-13 victory at Youngstown State recording a game-high 5 goals on the strength of 7 shots, all on goal, while adding 5 draw controls, 2 ground balls and a caused turnover. Two of her goals came in the second half, including the game-winner with 1:15 left in regulation. Earlier in the week at Rider, she posted a pair of assists to go along with 2 shots, 3 draw controls and one caused turnover.
Defensive Player of the Week
Jozy Allen, Central Michigan
Senior, Cincinnati, Ohio (Sycamore)
Jozy Allen ceded just one goal to her matchup in each contest. Additionally, Allen tied CMU record with 15 draw controls at Canisius and recorded the first two double-digit games on the draw in her career.
Goalkeeper of the Week
Sydney Davis, Kent State
Sophomore, Roswell, Ga. (Roswell)
Sydney Davis played the majority of minutes in goals for Kent State in three games this week, two of which were wins. Against Radford, she allowed just one goal in 25 minutes of action. Davis put up a heroic performance playing all 64 minutes of Kent State's overtime victory at Central Michigan. She tallied 13 saves, including a huge save on a free position shot in overtime, to help the Flashes to the win.
